Iranians are the number one enemy of the Saudis.. with the Iranian expansion and potential deal with the west the Saudis are shiiting themselves at the prospect. Iran is the number one target of the Saudis... alternative energy is a joke.. it's not a serious option for economic reasons and for the fact that wind is an environmental disaster (kills tens of thousand birds)... - kaptaan
Only problem is none of those birds are delicious. |

heard there was a Hawks lockerroom fight, anyone got any info on the details of that? - kaptaan
In all seriousness, this is like, a beaten issue. There is obviously some sort of personell problem with someone from the Blackhawks. It could be any degree of very minor to very major. But that's the extent of it. Everything else is just rumors. |

It's cuz it isn't. It's not financially viable on a large scale....yet. Give it 20 years. Saudi's are doing the same thing now they did a few decades ago. And for the most part their adversaries, geographically are the same. Actually I tend to believe the hit to fracking is gravy and not the first order affect they desire.
IMO, fracking, heavy oil/tar sands and the like are a quarter-century away from being price competitive to where we see brent crude trading at this time; adjusting for inflation of course.
We've seen close to the bottom for crude for this cycle ($44-$50). I can see it back up to the $75 range in 18-24 months. - blackhawk24
The Saudis have been pretty disciplined about messaging so great point. I guess it helps that you can cut off the tongue of the big mouth (or some other appendage) under sharia...
Agree on AE. When that time comes though forget discipline - they will sell any supply they have and we will see half those governments dissolve and relocate to Switzerland. |

Really? I thought he was one of the bigger names for FLA. Him and Barkov, I though. Wasn't Huby rookie of the year a season or two ago? - Hank3Henshaw
Yes, but watching him since has been very frustrating. He's not small but plays that way lately. He was injured and that may have affected his game some but he looks to pass first and shoot second and gets pushed off the puck easily. I was hoping he would add some weight and muscle in the offseason but that doesn't seem to be the case. Talent is there but he may need to be more aggresive. |

Sure, that would help. I see you now believe Huberdeau for Sharp is doable so maybe it's just slow recall. You should try some of those memory games or a rubiks cube. May help sharpen your mind. - tredbrta
Not straight up it won't be. Propsed deal is Sharp, Bickell, and Hartman for Hubby, Upshall(sucks), and Petro(add in piece for us as we have plenty of D-men in system). Still don't think it happens though. Nice effort with the witty wisecracks...hope it made you feel better about yourself. |

Exactly. What do you think Lombardi, Nill, Shero, Dudley, or even a Bergevin, Chevy, Murray or Tallon could have received for this guys? Would they have received at least someone that is productive on their roster right now? Yeah, yeah, the fax issue was Tallon's fault, but wasn't StanBo in charge of contracts? Tallon also build most of the team that one in '10, and '13. Didn't he (SB) receive credit for the Hossa and Campbell signings on the Hawk's website? McD didn't like Tallon, it happens, and used whatever he could to move him. Office politics, it happens everywhere. What team president has the ego to be in the commercials. Could you see any other team NHL team prez doing that?
Nothing is going to change. Not as long as McD signed his pact to keep the Bowman's in power. Stan might have had a lot of success as a coach, but he also took over Cup winning teams in Montreal and Pittsburgh, but how was he when calling the shots in Buffalo?
Expecting the Hawks to make an significant move, whether to go younger and dump salary in anticipation of next season, or making a big move to compete this year, is smoking the good stuff.
Brouwer is another guy that would have been great to keep around, but perhaps he wasn't marketable enough to keep around. 200 hits and low penalties sounds good to me. Yeah, his hands weren't the best, but I'd take him over Winnik in a second. - howiehandles
Tallon got knee capped and it was used to move him out... personally I find it hard to believe he was responsible for any of the messed up paperwork... sabotage and subterfuge was the order of the day. |

Kind of funny because I'm also a Panthers fan--always kept my eye on them because when I was growing up, I was a big Beezer fan. SO I'm really curious if there will be a Hawks/Panther deal (again). I like that Hayes and Pirri ended up there. Plus the addition of Luongo was cool. I'm also a big Gudbranson fan. He's a throwback to an older style of Defensemen you don't really see any more: bigger, stay-at-home, bruiser. I wish they still had Markstrom. He was a little shaky when there, but has really developed nicely in the Comets. |

There's talk of building out a third pipeline going north to the Arctic, not sure how far along this is, but then Canada'll have 3 routes to sea for shipping oil. in case anyone wasn't aware, there's more oil reserves in Canada (mostly Alberta) than middle east. it's gonna find it's way to market sooner rather than later... right now it goes to the refiners in the states at a discount to WTC, but it'll be shipped at full price when the 3 pipelines are built to coast, to coast, to coast - kaptaan
This is a fact apparent to everyone but the current resident of the White House and his economic "team".
Bottom line in relation to the cap IMO. The Canadian economy and loonie will be rebounding relative to the US (absent catastrophe) and that should lead to stronger increases in the cap. There are other risks of course to the cap - like a tank in the US economy bringing down everything - but that doesn't appear to be happening. We've survived the most oppressive tax regime the US has ever seen. Corporate taxes here are 10% higher than the next closest developed nation. When/if it reforms here things could really turn up. The debt created by this thing in the WH will be another matter though... it will take decades to address if ever. |

Great pay back would be winning tonight and thus, hurting (if only a little) FLA's chances of a PO spot... - dsav123
Why does it have to be one or the other. I want both, payback and a win. To come out of the game with no win or no payback would be unacceptable. |

No I just don't think it's one giant problem but maybe a couple of distinct issues. And I don't know for sure. I know one thing for sure and I am keeping it under my hat for now. - John Jaeckel
