Not saying that it did or didn't happen, but Shanahan did it while playing for the Blues and ended up marrying Janney's wife.

I'm not trying to prove a point but worth mentioning again...What I wrote the other day about the goal tending situation is correct imo....

Darling coming up has nothing to do with trading Raanta....Albeit that could happen.

The reason Darling played Fri/Sat last week for Ice Hogs is because the front office wanted Darling ready to play in Chicago this week instead of Raanta...Who hasn't played until Sunday hadn't played for awhile, and didn't look good.

So Darling played Tuesday and unless Crawford plays really well tonight he could play again tomorrow night in a backend of a back to back.

If Raanta gets dealt before he plays in Rockford then they were protecting him from injury.....Otherwise the front office could like what they see from Darliing more than Raanta.

Exactly,

Fracking is viable, the other main reason to crush oil and make those operations not viable now, is so big oil can sweep in and purchase the distressed assets.

The real supply and demand cost of oil and then gas is 1.50. Another sad irony of the narrative or discourse is that while some in govt like to attack big oil, the fail to point out to the sheep that the government makes more of the sale of a gallon of gas then an oil or refiner makes in profit on the same gallon. Somehow that never gets mentioned.

Since youre here , if the Hawks.aquire a player with any term left on the contract is there cap penalties next season ?
- mrpaulish

No penalties, but it'll could impact signing RFAs right away. The tagging rule is that they cannot have an overage over 10% over the cap.

So, if the cap were to remain the same as this year, they can have players signed up to a little less than $76m for next season. They have $6m+ in LTIR space right now, so if they used all that space on non-rentals, they'd be close to their tagging limit (up to $70m). That means they would have to wait to sign Saad, Kruger, and/or other RFAs until after they made space. If the cap goes up, there's more wiggle room but we won't know that for a while.

Isn't part of why Horton didn't resign with Boston is because he wanted to go to a small market team?

Excellent explain. Thx .

And per Kuc ....

#Blackhawks have upped ante in trade targets. Looking at players on level of Jeff Skinner and Mike Cammalleri. That type of player.

Horton is going to hate that. Isn't part of why he didn't resign with Boston is because he wanted to go to a small market team?
- L_B_R

He wanted a small market and specifically Columbus if I recall. Due to his health issues it's speculated that he won't ever play again anyway.

The level of Skinner vs Cammalleri are extremely different lol.

I'd love Skinner. CAR would be idiots to trade him though.

RE: Horton for Clarkson.....

Cap-wise its a wash..... but you are basically swapping Clarkson's shotty play for Horton's injury-prone body...

I don't make much of this deal.....

That would be nice, but I don't see how they can make it work cap-wise.

Unless the plan is to LTIR Horton for the next several years (like Pronger in Philly) until he officially retires.

Yeah, I know he'll likely never play again, just kind of sucks for him in general.

TOR is more likely to get to the cap to get the full benefit of the LTIR than CBJ though so that's probably why they made the deal. Clarkson's bad contract off, LTIR Horton instead.
