Bob McKenzie was wondering if he was playing with them.

Maybe he is getting more like his Dad....Scottie is the best at doing a lot of talking and when he is done you realize he answered nothing that was asked.

Solid game this evening...a wakeup call with the injury to 88 or a bunch of guys playing to not get traded? Bickell and Shaw both took the body this evening a lot...thought it was a playoff game. And how bout the 4th line...meanwhile nada from Sharpie...

Really wasn't impressed with Hayes tonight. He played a real chippy game...interesting comments by Pat relayed by the Panthers brass...when he's good he's really good and when he's bad...

Stan needs to get off his duff and make a couple of moves here...Vermette and a dman should be the targets. And please don't talk about next season the Dollar Bill Wirtz era is full of them.

Big game tomorrow night with Tampa...would have loved if Stan had moved Sharp last summer and picked up Strahlman who Yzerman signed...would have been a big upgrade on the backend...

I love how the PR machine of CSNchicago.com and Tracey Myers is letting everyone know Stan is doing his best...'bowman getting pretty close to making a move' -

yeah...not buying it and why the hell is he even talking about...boyle quoted him as saying he has talked with every team...sure..the top teams in the WC are going to partner with the hawks...

seriously, Al. Is there a GM in any league that reveals their plans and thoughts? I really can't think of one.

Anyone else think Cumiskey is like Leddy-lite? Guys got some wheels and seems to be able to make quick decisions. Wouldnt mind seeing him stick around once Oduya and Tvr come back

Scotty has everybody believing he's basically retired, hardly gets involved with the Hawks except if they ask his opinion on something. The only thing he does anymore is go to every game in Tampa and watch hockey on TV every night.

All the Stan dumping Kills me , he brought this team back after one of the biggest sell offs in history . Not entirely his fault . They Won a Cup 3 years later . I guess he kept the right players . Maybe we could have had Dale trade a 2nd and 3rd . pick for Jagr
- oldduffman

Even though Bowman was the capologist when it happened...and as JJ has pointed out repeatedly he got virtually nothing from that selloff despite all the assets he was moving.

Bowman did nothing last summer when he knew he was weak up the middle and his defense couldn't clear the front of the net after the Kings series. Even his own father who's won how many Cups...13...said as much...

So Dale overpaid for Jagr. Did you see the game tonight and all those empty seats? Hockey doesn't play in Miami...Jagr will at least put some fannies in the seats. He's overpaid for several free agents as well...because its the frickin' Panthers.

Look I don't care who's running it for the Hawks as long as they're trying making solid moves to try to win the Cup. Bowman has plenty of assets and now an abundance of cap money - he needs to get a couple of moves made here. He needs to get Vermette after failing to address the center situation last summer and we've all seen Runblad Erixon defense - adding a quality dman is needed as well.

Let's hope he does something.

He can sure skate. Thought he played pretty well tonight. Of course, Seabs had to bail him out a couple of times.

Yeah. Thing is. Rozy still thinks the game at a much higher level that Cumisky. Rozy is fine in short burst. His legs just can't go every game.

Nordstrom should have been there all season. When he is on that line, they have been effective. Anyone else and its can't be used to their strength.

Honestly I don't either, though it seems like many enjoy the Pile on Stan game while elevating Dale to some deified status and as always the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Fact is Dale has never had to deal with the cap in the manner Bowman has and he's been able to spend in FL because they are still building. It will be interesting to see what he does with some of the guys that are likely core players for them in a year or two: Gudbranson, Ekblad, Barkov, when they come up on their RFA deals.

Like you say though. Hope Stan does something. We'll see.

But no one can engage a group and do a lot of talking without really giving any answers like Scottie...There is an art to being evasive and engaging.

Really? When? Please tell the times Seabs bailed him out. It looked pretty equal as to which partner was bailing out the other, especially when Seabs starts with the blind passes and handles the puck like it's a grenade.
