The other thing that Lucic does is fight, and fight well. Backes can drop the gloves but he makes his hay playing a two-way/power game whereas Lucic came into the league and beat the piss out of almost every heavyweight in the league. He still would never drop the gloves with Laraque though.

Agreed, I think that is worst case scenario for a guy who can skate as well as Crouse though. Upside is huge and in the right system with the right players he could be a force.

I am going to disagree with you here, i don't believe he loved Moreau. Pat LaForge came into my office one day as a guest speak during some leadership training and spoke of moreau and horcoff. Here's what he said

"Ethan moreau was the worst captain in oilers history, he was just terrible." "shawn horcoff was an excellent captain, certainly overpaid, but a great captain and leader"

The words leon plays a 'heavier' game stood out. It's one of the assets he has that could be so vital to us going forward.
In that case, I stick with the centers we got and try and use the pick for an asset filling another need

It is because that's the job of your scouting to find the top 6 forward, top 4 D and starting goalies in the top 10 picks. obviously they don't turn out that way for a myriad of reasons, but getting a heart and soul guy there instead of something better is a failure of scouting.

Hard to find guys like that, Iginla was the ideal power forward. Skill, toughness, leadership, durability. He could do everything.
