When you hear on TSN that the Oilers are making a last ditch effort to sign him and Spector saying that Petry wants to test free agency why would we not assume that the guys getting paid to report sports news are in the know?
A. Mact is waiting till the last minute to up the bidding war on petry with tons of interest.
B. Mact is waiting on a better offer as interest is low
C. Mact is still hoping to resign him - Ihateallofu
I think that MacT is/has pitched a few offers to Petry's camp but I think Jeff would like to test free agency. I feel that MacT will wait until Petry is the last available rental defenseman and really try to maximize on an offer.
What do you think the chances are that Carl Soderberg would sign in Edmonton? I know that MacT won't try to sign him because he would help the team get better but..
