Even if the last 2 years are abit of an issue, the first 2-3 at that price make him more than worth it.

Agreed. I wonder if Fasth would even re-sign here? Even on a one year, better than seeing him walk for nothing. Maybe they could flip him next trade deadline when he is healthy (and hopefully a little better looking).

I'd strongly consider doing that and then taking the 2nd (2015) and the mid level prospect (if Petry won't re-sign) instead of grabbing Raanta and watching Fasth walk for nothing.

It's also pretty tempting to give Raanta a try though.

he's worth more than a fifth, especially with term (only for non cap ceiling teams). the argument from lowetide was he was worth a decent prospect and the inference i got was he felt he was worth similar value to petry

Building this team isn't nearly the same as many other teams.

Regardless of how good Ference is or isn't, as if his signing didn't make sense at the time. People love their fuking hindsight.
