To be fair, i've been saying to trade higgins/hansen all season regardless of stats. Lately I've been thinking to dump Matthias as well, simply because his agent isn't willing to discuss contract yet(probably waiting to see if he can push for a 3.5+ if Matthias hits 20+ goals). He's a good player that I want to keep, but not at 3.5. I say 3.5 because that is a going rate for players that have hit 20 goals in a season, sometimes even 4 if consistent.

I thought Sopel retired like 5 years ago.

I think Vancouver could do well against any team in the playoffs in the first round.

If you don't use them, you lose them (after 2 years). Also Higgins would be a huge waste of a buyout he can be traded for picks if management feels like it

13 teams didn't even use one of their compliance buyouts.Multiple teams only used one.

Rule said any team had till june or July 2014 I think it was to opt into buying a player out before the 2014/2015 season. Once that deadline passed you can't buyout anymore players. You only get 2.

The top 5 most valuable franchises in the league used both of theirs.

Wont get another one till the next lockout if they include it in the CBA.

Buying out higgins now would do pretty much nothing to his cap hit. Thats why toronto never bought out clarkson, even though they had the money to do so.

Every team after the lockout got two compliance buyouts where they wouldnt count against the cap.

Now when you buy a player out it counts I believe 2/3rds salary against the cap.

People are only giving you half the answer. You can still buy out players but the no compliance buyouts were limited to the two and that has passed. Now you get penalized for a buy out... no limit on how many.
