What was the consensus in 94 about the Canucks?? Wasn't it something like they'll be out in one round, if they even make the playoffs? I'm not even gonna try and predict how far we make it. As long as we make it in, anything can happen.

Who knows, back then they barely kept track of any detailed stats and it was much more about reputation/perception than actual numbers when people thought of "upsets" and "underdogs". I've watched a few of the ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries, mostly the NBA and college basketball ones and it's funny how they show headlines in old newspapers of some teams being underdogs or cinderellas and it turns out that the team was actually pretty good looking back in hindsight.
