If the Boston trade is Atkinsson straight up, we should use that as a fair comparable for Stewart's value. I haven't seen what CBJ is supposedly getting in return.

Two options

a) one last hoorah before another mini tear down like the one after their 1st cup
b) start shedding salary and bringing in picks/prospects for later use


Thing is, unlike last time they may have to wait a little longer before they can contend again so I can't really fault them for going for it one last time.

I think Chicago goes out early this year, and ends up declining. Similar to how Boston has declined this year. Their core is getting older, with limited prospects and cap space. This will be their best year in the next while IMO

They'll get Kane back around the 2nd round of the playoffs i think. And Vermette gives them something they really haven't had in a long time, a 2nd line C.

Don't think so. I haven't seen anything. I'd really hate to be in the position of Boston right now, but they're sure as hell not as bad as the Devils. NJ has next to no prospects, a mediocre team, and a team age average of 33
