On replay it was a one hand tap. Stick was breaking on shot. Good missed / non call.

Steen slashed Hamhuis repeatedly on one shift with no call, not just small slashes, basically full chops.

What about the other 3? Usually I hate the whining overt 1 or 2 missed calls but this is ridiculous.

I know, but that Matthias one was the shot that broke it.

Seriously. I'm shocked they even gave Petro a penalty there.

Hanhuis hit him in the shoulder/chest anyway

I'm sorry that wasn't a tap; more like a panic swing.

This is the season where they don't even try and hide how they make calls up. They have the green light by the league now to make a call, delay telling anyone what it's for...go huddle and fabricate a scenario. Like the commercial break light, they should have an up coming penalty light... who knows what the call will be... figure that out after the whistle.

Just wait for the kind of "consistent" officiating that we will see in the playoffs.

Toronto looses again, the tank is strong with them. I am jealous of the draft pick they are going to get, they have a real shot at one of the big gun prospects.

The arm gos up at the Hamhuis hit from the ref at the other end of the ice. They huddle, decide not to follow through with that horrible call and then save face by tossing him for a roughing that never happened... this is just pathetic. The make up call after the missed stick slash on Mathias... these refs are lost and trying to play catch up the entire period.

Sticks break way too easy. It shouldn't be an instant penalty for hitting a guys stick and it breaks.

I can even live with the Matthias slash not being called, but Steen gave Hamhuis at least two obvious/hard slashes a shift or two prior to that(away from the puck). And it's not like Hamhuis even did much, all he did was pin him to the (frank)ing boards...if that calls for a couple of slashes then every guy in the league will have broken wrists/ankles.

It's a blessing in disguise for them, that team was destined for long-term mediocrity with that core of players

They can't even blame Carlyle anymore.

Carlyle was the only thing keeping them anywhere near mediocre. Now they're the Oilers.
