This is just .........
You know what?
All I can say is that it takes very little to sell some people.
What has he done that is excellent?
He has "tanked" in one of the most arrogant and disgusting ways that we are being laughed on the National stage.
He got owned yesterday on deadline day.
Clint Eastwood's chimp could be sitting in Murray's office and accomplishing the very same thing.

Guess you didn't read my rant from earlier. I'm done here.

Yes, this team stinks. Neuvirth was not going to continue that streak for the rest of the season, and Stewart is as inconsistent as they come. They would still have finished last. This was about getting "something" for them.
- buffalofan19

All he had to do was continue it for another week or two and the dream is over. As it is it might be. He was standing on his head every single freaking game.

Nothing from his past career indicated that was going to happen. They would have been fine. I'm not upset they traded him, but waiting until the deadline did not hurt them. If Arizona catches them, it was bound to happen no matter what.

Like i said yesterday. What Arizona Does/did in no way has an affect on how Tim Murray is as a GM.

You really have to be kidding me. The only reason we have more than 20 points this year is because (at times) we've had stellar goaltending. If Lindback was starting the last ten games we might have gotten 2 or 3 points as were were outplayed to varying degrees in all of the games. Arizona would still be magically destined to catch us? C'mon.

Murray will be graded as a GM based on how the team looks in the fall of 2015 IMO

If this team does not compete, questions will have to be answered IMO

And that's a perfectly valid question to ask/ statement to make. But to say Arizona finished worse, therefore Murray sucks, is not, IMO.

I am fully convinced we see that other first round pick moved for a vet winger.

29 points can be contributed to outstanding play from the goalies

14 points from descent play from the skaters

if the yotes finish 30th, and the sabres 29th, it alters one piece but not the team IMO

this team needs to compete in the fall

You could argue that, but one of the tradeoffs in tanking is that the bar gets set so low that even with a generational talent it'll still take some time climb out of the abyss.

You mentioned earlier that Murray knows what the team needs are, but what are the odds he's able to address all of them this off-season. There's two sides to this, we may have the assets to make things happen but if what we need is quite literally not available then you've really got no choice but to stay patient. They're in a unique yet enviable position, why ruin that with a rush job?

The writing is on the wall much like last year.

Kane was the player talked about after the deadline last year and he's now here.

ROR is the player talked about after this years deadline, lets see how this plays out.

A "rush job" would be getting a guy like Sharp. Another Kane-like trade is getting a guy that is just now coming into his prime (like Kane and Bogosian). There will be guys available via trade or FA.

yeah I figure a top 4 d man, perhaps in free agent
ROR
a winger to offset a player lost in the trade for ROR in free agent
and a few goalies we have talked about in free agent

Guess it comes down to matter of opinion and what is defined as "good". I of course would love to see a turn around by fall 2015.. but to go from where we are to playoffs without the required personnel, it's probably going to take a miracle. I mean, the Islanders had everything in place and brought in a few key free agents and trades and look where they're at now. I feel like we're a year or two behind them.

Not necessarily. Rush could imply un necessary overpayment of top prospects instead of showing some patience.

And yes there will be guys available, but are they worthwhile or do they even fit in?

The defense is set IMO.

ROR for the other 1st, Gringo, and a piece that is added via trade from another team.

Think how the Drury trade went down.

I don't care who the troll is - a Sabres fan, an outsider, etc - they do what they do for self-gratification. To watch the reactions is what gets their goat.

(DD - got a Daffy/Kermit gif for here??)
