Again, you can use that 2016 5th to acquire a guy that helps your bottom 6th.

He didnt fit what Murray wanted. He was not going to be re-signed

Not much lost.

Varone, Schaller, Larsson can replace him.

I think you are overvaluing Flynn a little bit.
he was an ok player but he can be replaced.

- ImThatGuy

this was by far the worst product I have seen on the ice the last 2 years and flynn was far and away the best +/- player on this team

Murray would be dragged out to the streets and slowly killed with thumbtacks if he traded Girgensons...

he is the ONLY untradable person on this roster IMO

- JVince11

Girgensons and Stewart for Hall.

is he still dragged?

What moves are you referring to pierce?
Moves by all the leagues GM's in its entirety?
If that is your question I really like what the Flyers got back in return for Coburn.
I also like what Tampa got back for Connolly.
Phoenix did fantastic dealing Yandle.
Flyers did well trading Timonen as well.
I think the Flyers are doing a excellent job thus far.
Just off the top of my head.

- BuffaloHardHat

I guess Steve Ott and Ryan Miller (a rental) is a terrible trade when the compensation is a progressing prospect, a 1st, a UFA asset, a goalie who turned into our current starting goalie and a third with potential to be a first. But yeah, TM's a (frank)ing moron.

Then there was Bogosian for Myers swap, which I personally love but I'm sure there's varying opinion..and Kane for a LATE 1st (scouts say there's a cliff after 20th pick), Armia, who TM supposedly isn't interested in due to character issues and a guy that's playing like Andrew Peters did in juniors and projects to the third line. All for a proven commodity, 23 years old elite top 6 power forward. Yeah I guess that's pretty (frank)ing awful too.

What move could Murray make today for you to give him some props?
- Pierceme69

I will if he makes one Pierce.
Trust me I will.
You know of my disdain for Myers, but when he a good game I always made sure that I acknowledged it here.
Just weren't enough of them for my liking.

seriously? You're comparing Flynn with a guy that was (up until recently) a premier checking line center in the league?

#BREAKINGNEWS #Habs have offer on the table for Eberle: 2015 1st round pick, Fucale, Tinordi. Ball in #Oilers court.

If only there was the slightest bit of truth to this... Actually isn't all that bad of an offer honestly... Tinordi hasn't lived up to expectations but has big potential.. Fucale is a top goalie candidate that EDM could want and a 1st..

- JVince11

This is the same moron last night that said the Sabres are trading Mez for Olli

he was a RFA, not UFA

again, if you think a player like Paille helped the Bruins get a cup then this was a stupid move

- homiedclown

How soon are we competing for a Cup?

you under-value flynn

if he was a second rd pick instead of a college UFA, you and others would have been more objective of what he brought to the team

I like him just fine and if I'm being honest I'm a little puzzled as to why they would move him. I just didn't think - for me - it warranted any more thought.

I agree with some of this except that Peters was also terrible offensively in juniors unlike Lemieux who is playing really really well. Lemieux will be a much much much better player than peters could have ever dreamed to me

I can't wait for Stewart to get traded so Peters will shut the hell up...
Repeating yourself & yelling into the mic doesn't make u a good broadcaster, it makes u rush limbaugh...

Trading a player of value to a playoff team and resigning him is only going to help your team. More playoff games only adds to a plaers experience.

Peters scored 31, I repeat 31 goals his entire Jr career.

Lemeiux has 41 this year alone.

I liked Flynn too. Thought he was a good piece on the 4th line for the future. But I bet there's plenty of others like him coming up through the system and with the contract limit, if you can get something for someone, I guess it makes sense.
