Logic behind this statement? If he can't comment on skilled NHL players, wtf right do any of us have??

Sorry, just hate that argument

- stashu

It was mostly an attempt to make fun of him a little.

we traded #16 for him

at least peters is committed

- homiedclown

Small clarification - we used the 2nd rounder that we got for 16 on him. Not sure why he went in the second round.

I admit my awful mistake. I was under the impression he had pretty good junior numbers. Peters comparison redacted.

How he was ever a 2nd round pick I'll never understand.

What would have been his qualifying offer?
- buffalofan19

It isn't the price of the contract, but the fact that they can only have 50 guys under contract. Starts to get tricky when you take into account how many players we've drafted over the past 3 years, plus what we'll draft this year. At some point, you have to start moving guys out for something otherwise you don't have a contract to offer.

just curious, 89, is this whole Nolan thing from you or from your source?
- Michael Pachla

What Nolan thing ? I have no clue if he will be here or not but I know that he wants one thing and Murray wants another.

was that the video scouting era?

"Peters on the way up

Andrew Peters of the Oshawa Generals opened some eyes at the prospects game.

The 6-4, 200-pound left wing is a power forward with a lot of raw skill and is one of the better fighters in the Ontario Hockey League.

"We knew he was a tough kid," said a scout from an NHL Eastern Conference team, "but he has decent hands, worked hard and he scored a nice goal."

Although he didn’t get a chance to show his fighting ability in the prospects game, a goal by Peters gave Team Cherry a 2-0 lead late in the first period. With his back to the net, Peters roofed a backhand from the shot over the shoulder of Team Orr goaltender Patrick Desrochers.

"I’ve seen him pound guys with both hands this year," the scout said, "but I haven’t seen him score a goal like that." "

It goes without saying that I think this team is much, much better served with somebody else behind the bench, but I can't help but feel a little bad for a guy like Ted Nolan when a General Manager flexes his muscles like this. It's almost like a scene from a movie.
