Regardless of all of the things that the Sabres did today, Unfortunately, I still see AZ finishing last. Their roster is just as bad, if not worse than ours. They weren't scorring with all of the guys they traded. How are they going to score without them?

I see AZ having to win 5 more games (including the ones against us) for us to be able to finish the job. I don't see them doing that. Honestly, I am not sure they will win 1-3 more.

Can we go 2-18 the rest of the way to lock this down? We're bad, but we're not that bad.

We have a few RFA's to re-sign, notably Grigorenko and Pysyk but yes, lots of room. Gonna be a busy summer.

No team has openly and deliberately tanked in the public eye so smugly ever the way Murray is doing it.
He is just about raising that once quiet giggle to a roar laughing loudly at the entire NHL and its fan bases.

It's an eye opener (the degree to which they're tanking) but then again the two guys at the top of the draft are eye opening prospects. I don't think they would tank this hard if it was an average draft, especially since they wouldn't have much competition like they do this year.

When you actually look at it, Murray got rid of a couple of 4th line PKers, a backup goalie, and a guy in Stewart no one really wanted. We didnt sell off our best player who was 29 and still had term left on his contract.

Arizona is tanking harder than we are IMO and people applaud them for it.

Our Yandle and Vermette trades were last year and the year before. Yandle was going to walk and so was Vermette, Moulson just signed(i think that's who you're talking about)

True but they are doing the exact same thing, they also got rid of a goalie who I think was 9-5 at the time and playing very well. Don't crucify us and say they are doing it the right way.

Everyone has seen the Sabres calculating this McEichel "tank" away to far in advance, and these teams essentially now despise the Sabres out of jealously.

2 yrs in the making, we've telegraphed our intent . Adversely the AZ Coyotes pretty much just ripped their band-aid off all in one season.. And are playing the underdog spoilers. What's not to like?

He's followed his plan pretty well and he's pretty honest stating that theres no guarantee that what he wants to do in the future (ufa's, trades,mthe draft, etc.) is going to happen.

What did you expect him to say, he can't come out and say he is tanking. It's all talk. He knows he wants one of those first two picks.

That was just political more than anything. He can't literally come out and say things like "we're going for 30th" and "i hope we lose every game" that's our job.


He was just skirting the BN questions as best he could.

Like i said, Sucky basically asked him like, three times if its his plan to finish 30th and every time, the answer was "no."

Not all of the assets we expect to be part of the future have played in the nhl yet. I think he's just telling fans what they want to hear.
