True, and he had to overpay to get WPG to make the deal before the deadline/Off season. If Murray waited their would have been more bidders.

He also said he's liked Kane and Bogosian for years now. He saw an opportunity to get both and overpaid to get it done IMO

There is no karma that can harm us if we finish 30th. If Eichel is our punishment then that seems pretty sweet to me.

Just look at the deal as a whole.
That 1st is over payment IMO.
Forget Karsdof, that player will never see the ice for the Sabres.
Look at the rest of that trade.
Bogosian straight up for Myers is about right.
I didn't mind that part of it at all.
But, it took Stafford ,Armia, Lemieux and that 1st to attain an injured Kane?

Like I said, very underwhelming.
I don't like the deal for us at all.
Just my opinion.

We're really going to have to wait until at least 20 games in to next season to really know any way, you know? Stafford is pretty much a throw away unless they re-sign him and at that point, it's just picks and prospects for Kane.

Someone should have asked him about any talks or progress with BU free agent goalie prospect Matt O'Connor.

As a construction guy, haven't you ever had a rebuild where the building was so bad that it made sense just to doze it and start over from scratch? That's basically what the Sabres were. A bunch of old rotten creaky boards and cracked foundation. Soon we are going to be build so sturdy and it's because of this horrible period we are suffering through right now.

I'll chime in with this. Your wrong on kasdorf. If Murray can't get Matt o'connell, kasdorf becomes a good bet to be the backup here as early as 16-17

Murray thinks that he is talking to a bunch of fools.
That's why he was asked the same question but in different ways.
His smugness will be his demise, I just about guarantee it.
And to be fair his smugness he hasn't even earned.
His returns today and even on the Myers deal are very underwhelming.
I am waiting for this talker to wow me.

He can't talk to any free agent college players until their season is done. It's called tampering

Even if he was allowed which I am pretty sure he isn't BU has a chance to win a national championship and once he signs a contract he can't play for BU...

Even if he could, he wouldn't say "yes, we're actively pursuing him and if he doesn't land here, it will be failure"
With that said, it would still be better than asking Murray if the plan was to tank 3 times in a row.
