What was Darcy's big return for drury and briere? How about hasek, satan and peca?

I loathe Darcy but I don't blame him for all of that. We were going for the cup so there is no way we would trade Drury or Briere (not signing them is a different question).

He had a bigger return for Hasek but Hasek (allegedly) found out and made him reduce the return.

Peca.... Connolly was a top prospect and didn't work out. It happens.

So some on here are not pleased with Murray's trades yesterday. The reality of the situation is the players he traded may have been good b y Buffalo Sabres standards but in reality they are MEDIOCRE players at best in the NHL world. Now he could have kept them all, missed out on one of the 2 top picks this draft and the Sabres would be what they have been for 6 years now....MEDIOCRE...... by trading them away the Sabres are a re worse team for sure but they will now have a real shot at one of the 2 FRANCHISE PLAYERS in the draft who can be built around and have success for years to come. So whine if you want.... Murray did the right team for this franchise..............

Or teams are going to walk in to AZ half asleep, playing there 5th string goalie like Vancouver did here and The Coyotes will come out on top in a few of those games.

How much worse could the Sabres have been? They went 0 for January, and didn't even get a loser point if I'm not mistaken.

i agree he wasn't traded drury and briere but as you said not signing them was bad.. then there is the Vanek thing.

Hasek was the fault of his team building. Hasek would have been fine if he just put a half assed decent team in front of him. so i do put that on him

peca should have been signed.. so again i put that on him. but yes it was a decent return

The Peca thing was weird from day one. Soon after that went down, the Rigas implosion occurred. I'm not sure we'll ever know what really happened there. Was it really Regier not knowing how to budget, or was ownership bracing for the implosion it had to know was coming?

This is a fair statement. I don't think anyone here is calling Murray the GM of the century. What Murray has done, SO FAR, is excellent. He's executing a plan and doing it well. He has a LONG ways to go, but so far, he's done well. Tearing down is a lot easier than building up.

He has "tanked" in one of the most arrogant and disgusting ways that we are being laughed on the National stage.
He got owned yesterday on deadline day.
Clint Eastwood's chimp could be sitting in Murray's office and accomplishing the very same thing.
