I like what Chia did yesterday. He didn't sacrifice the future for over paying the garbage that was out their for UFA's. Good on Pete for not mortgaging the future when he might not have a future.
Bringing in someone with Connolly's pedigree for (2) 2nd rounders was a saavy move. They likely wont' find someone with that with 2nd round picks. Its unlikely. Plus Connolly is a bit older and has some pro seasoning under his belt and ready to step in now.
I really like the Talbot trade, as a veteran with a Stanley Cup ring to help solidify the 4th line. Great move. Caron has good skills but just couldn't bring that to a NHL game situation.
Cunningham, cmon people, including Felger. He wasn't really that good. He had skills, skates fast, but pretty much does nothing of use on the ice. Probably a decent player at the AHL level.
It is an off year, maybe they can get hot at the right time and snag the last seed and upset the 1st seed. From their they have a good as shot as any in the East.
The real work is going to be this off-season. The way I see it:
1) A core guy is traded - Lucic, Chara, Bergeron, Rask
2) Dump Erikksson
3) Or find a taker for Kelly & Seidenberg
I like option #3. |

The fact that anything was acquired for Jordan Caron is a win. Caron is worth frozen 2 day old poop.
I think Talbot can help but still I was hoping for the Bruins to be sellers. I guess we'll get to endure another bounce from the Habs. Might as well start drinking now. Oops too late... - glove_was_stuck

Yup, and then a new management team can come in, clean house, and we can be perpetually mediocre for another 20 years
We get it. All the success in the world wouldn't make you like PC because he traded your home boy. Just go root for Dallas already.
Oh, also like hoe you highlight Talbot and ignore Connolly. Talk about cherry picking. Yeah, coulda used a d man, but how many times in the last calendar year have people like you been screaming that we need to rely on our youth more? Now we are and you still aren't happy. Shocker |

You don't need to clean house, but chiarelli is very slowly ruining this team.
We would have been better of keeping cunnigham and caron right now. I like talbot, but we already have 3 of him on this team. why on earth do we need another one. I like connolly as well, but where does he fit in now? you know claude chooses paille or campbell over him any day of the week. And yeah we a relying on youth right now because of injury, but with the talbot trade, as soon and krejci gets back, ferlin/spooner/connolly will all draw out of the lineup. |

If Connolly comes out of the lineup in favor of Paille/Campbell then ill jump on your team. He's not ruining the team. He made a huge mistake trading Seguin, and put us in a bit of cap trouble trying to win the cup. You'll see, next offseason we'll have a little breathing room and a clearer picture of where the team is headed. Look at next year, the forward corps could look like this
Lucic Krejci Pasta/Connolly
Marchand Bergy Smith
Loui? Koko Pasta/Connolly
???? Talbot Ferlin
That's a quality lineup with ZERO (0) top 9 fwds over 30. What's wrong with that?
The D may be more work, but Chara, Hamilton, Krug, Miller are a good start. Trotman and Morrow are progressing nicely. Maybe Seids rebounds. I feel like people are going way to crazy about this "terrible" season that still has us in a playoff spot |

This is something id consider. Love Krug but he's the type that makes you wonder if he's a glorified PP specialist. Its just kinda scary to give that kind of player big money |

yes veteran leadership is always something to avoid. especially a guy that won a cup. honestly if you lament the caron trade you're just trying to look for something to hate. |

Just wait till he gets a goal in his first game since hes playing with Duchene and Iggy. |

Is GM Peter fired when they lose in the first round this year? Not trolling, just adding it to the Seguin debacle and a the expectations in Boston. Or is David Kreijci's injury his out-card? "Well you know, he was missing his second line center". Just curious. Thanks. |
