Hope for Columbus' sake that Clarkson's contract was insured.

NICE!!!! I've been playing the games on my comp. Its totally not the same. I haven't the faintest idea where I put mine. If you get a chance, pick up a 6 button Genesis controller. Not a 3rd party one, but the actual one from Sega. Still the best controller ever made.

it's funny you say that cuz I picked up a SICK wireless 6 button controller from Sega (and from back in the day too). They're amazing. They're a bit bigger and a bit thicker than the 3rd party 6 buttons controllers. very close to Sega's 3 button ones

When the controller had 3 buttons, it had to press a+b for x, b+c for y and a+c for z?

for the games that utilized 6 buttons(not all games did) : pressing the mode button on a 3 button controller turned A, B and C into X, Y and Z.

I remember having to press a+b for x when using 3 button control in mortal combat.

Oh that's totally possible. Maybe some games handled this in a different way than others. I remember playing a fighting game that worked the way I described above

Ok because of you I just bought Sega Genesis Collection for PS2, even though I'm trying to sell a bunch of games.

Yea, I used to only play nhl93 and mortal kombat. NHL93 didn't require x, y and z buttons. I was too good with 6 buttons with mortal kombat, I had to use 3 buttons one to make it fair for others. I was really bad in mortal kombat with Super Naytendo.

Nice.
A bunch of my favorite Genesis games ever are on that one

Phantasy Star IV
Golden Axe
Golden Axe II
Shinobi III
Shadow Dancer (part of the Shinobi series)

Enjoy man

EDIT : if you enjoy RPGs, make SURE to play Phantasy Star IV. It is a masterpiece and one of the very best RPGs I have ever experienced.
