I think for now, MT should give as much time needed to PA so that "maybe" PA can get going.

He's the only one out of Eller, Mitchell, Flynn, DSP, Weise, Malhotra, DLR, Prust and co that has put up numbers in the past and that should theoretically be capable of doing so again.

- WaterBoy

i do think that's the approach MT will take but i just don't think PAP will do enough to justify staying in the role.

Galchenyuk is a top 6 winger. and i think Gallagher is OK on a second line too.
- DoubleDown

sure, but how many legit top 3 forward do we have? 1
then both kids, plek, dd... all 2nd liners IMO

Weise is way more effective than Eller. Definetely not an answer on the top 6, but for (frank)'s sake, we said he was hanging on Pacioretty's coattails, and then he makes offensive blackhole Malhotra score.

don't see any reason why he can't be a 25-30 point guy if he gets ice time. you know that's not a lot of points right?
- DoubleDown

Yeah, but he's also not very good. Pretty sure he's playing way above his head right now. The guy's going to be 27 this year.

Dale Weise isn't the (frank)ing answer to anything but trivia questions about people who look like horses.

I don't know if it's so much the ice time, as it is the role. 3rd line wing is not for him. 3rd line centre? Maybe we see a little more out of him in that role. But the guy needs a kick in the balls; his stick is where offense goes to die right now.

If PAP is not playing on one of the top 2 lines, why play him at all? Why did MB get all the 3rd/4th liners over the last week? If PAP can't produce, sit him in the press box because there are better 3rd/4th liners on this team.

Eller won't be playing in the top 6.

This leaves room on the wing for Weise and PAP to battle it out...

At least Weise is an upgrade over Moen

Maybe Flynn is another Weise, had Bozak like numbers in the NCAA.

if there's one thing Eller has proven, it's that he's utterly incapable of producing offence at the NHL level.

Yup.

Time to move on. Play him on the 3rd line. Either play DLR on the 4th or tell him, thanks, have fun eating big minutes in the AHL and be ready for the next call up.

Yeah. But he weights only 180 lbs. Thought he was bigger.

I also think he'll be a nice surprise.

He most probably will.

Other teams will focus on PAtches and Plek's lines.

This will allow Eller to TRHIVE once again

Or not

One thing that I'm almost certain of is that if he does raise his game come playoffs time.... it will be as a center.
