You're missing the point he is 34, they're now paying mccoy 9 plus million, Dixon makes a couple million, and Jackson nearly 3. You don't tie money into RBs abd expect to be successful.
If the bills keep him is a mistake, and are simply being too loyal. - Mentalorgasm5
They carried 4 RB's last year they will carry 4 RB's this year. Dixon or Brown would be cut before Jackson. He does things better at age 34 than both of those RB's including protecting the football.
As a first year coach on a new team Rex Ryan knows damn well not to cut a guy like Freddie.

How much did those 4 RBs make last year? Roughly what mccoy makes by himself.

Not having a franchise QB has one perk.....cap space

Haha. I personally Hate the move for the bills (mccoy), it's just looks like they don't know how to build the foundation of a winning franchise in the NFL.

Again you are missing the point that Freddie is probably one of if not the best protecting backs in the game. Something the Bills found out that neither Spiller (since gone) McCoy (not gonna happen) or Brown or Dixon are very good at. His cap hit is something like 2.7 million not something that is going to cause an issue this season. On top of it his age is not something you can look at with him since he doesn't have the typical work load for a 34 year old RB - Stripes77
I have said that many times already in pages of yore.
Apparently it means nothing that he is one of the best RB's at picking up a blitz and still falls forward at his age when he is tackled.

Ponder is cheaper I believe that could be one of the reasons - Stripes77
I actually like Whaley's aggressiveness.
I like that he knows that the window with this type of defense is not going to be open forever.
A game manager for this upcoming season is just fine with me.
A game manager that gets this young roster some playoff experience.
In 2016 the list of competent, experienced very good free agent QB's I believe is what Whaley and Ryan are looking forward to, seeing that Cassel will be a UFA come the end of next season.
Good aggressive "no stone unturned" move.
I still believe they bring in another free agent QB this season to up the competition ante.
OK......so tell me again how Buffalo is going to beat out Arizona for last? I mean, Arizona is taking this tanking thing to a whole new level. Their goalie is actually jumping out of the way of shots now:
Buffalo will have to be 2-16 the rest of the way to pull this off. I see no way Arizona wins another game this season. I am pretty much resigned to the fact that Buffalo will be picking 3rd, AT BEST, at this point.
PS......Yes, I know the shot was tipped coming in, but it still looks absolutely ridiculous, especially from a team that has openly said they are tanking.

The new coaching staff has no allegiance to Freddy. I wouldn't assume he's here. I hope he is, however. He's a good soldier.

You don't cut the captain of the team on his last year of his contract when he is still valuable to your team
Rap sucks..... This other crap has no soul or is too politically motivated..... Modern country sucks and is nothing but glorified pop... Nothing country about it...... So what else is there? - gerbe75pts
I'm more of a metal fan than anything, but you can't represent dubstep/electronic music with Skrillex. Much to learn indeed
Gotta get some Tristam in there. Does an overall mediocre genre justice IMO.

Arizona has the 4th toughest strength of schedule remaining in the league which doesn't bode well for us. Edmonton and Buffalo are both near the bottom of the league in SoS. We'll need a huge helping of swiss cheese.

Okay I'll phrase it this way. You but Jackson on the field to pick up the blitz( doing so takes the best offensive weapon off the field, whom you just trAded for) and when the bills drop back to pass, they still have no one to throw the ball...makes a lot of sense.

Almost every team has a 3rd down back. It's not like Freddy can't catch the ball on the check down.

But....it doesn't take McCoy off of the field.
That's the thing.
On third down the offense is not allowed to have McCoy and Freddy on the field at the same time?
edit: come to think of it, you may seem them a lot on the field together this season.

They still play Vancouver 3 times, twice at home, as well as NJ at home, and us once there and once here. There are enough wins there for them to finish it out.

3rd down back mean anything to you?
Almost every team utilizes them
3 and 8 an obvious blitzing situation you leave McCoy in there to protect? Get outta here
By the way Jackson had 500 yards receiving last year...but yeah he isn't productive

Those games against Arizona are going to be 'special'. Is Miller down for the count in VAN?
