Been trying to ask that all day and no one has an answer... - grand-magus
Pretty sure I answered the first time you asked. You don't trade picks for a guy when you can get similarly skilled guys for free in less than a week. Locker would have been my choice because he is more athletic and has a bigger arm. He's also younger and has only been on one team, so the chance, although slim, exists that there is some untapped potential there. |

He was worse than ej last year but i agree it would make sense to pick up a qb from fa. Maybe they wanted a veteran whos been around to do the whole "mentor" thing. |

I'm sure they thought about him. He was the one that intrigued me the most out of the FA class
Obviously Ryan didn't want Sanchez. Maybe they thought the cap hit on Locker would be more than Cassel? Or they wanted a guy with more experience? |

It is pretty random...
this was under the picture.
Clint Malarchuk.
4 days and 300 stitches later, back on the ice. It also caused 9 people to faint in the stands, 2 of them had heart attacks, and caused 2 players to throw up on the ice.
Hockey = Yes
It seriously freaks me out whenever I see this photo. It’s so intriguing/disturbing that this man could have died from this injury and survived. and 4 days later it was like he was back to normal. amazing.
let us not forget that an Army Medic saved his life
Not just any Army medic, a Vietnam veteran who literally dug his fingers into the cut and squeezed the artery shut. He held Malarchuk’s artery with his fingers all the way to the hospital.
damn right, that’s (frank)ing balls of steel. Everyone should aspire to be this trained. - jochfr
I was at that game, up in the blues so not too close but it was intense.

No offense, but I'm trusting Ryan and Whaley before you.
They must see something they like.
And they'll probably still pick someone up in FA.

I'm not offended. When you see Cassel play you may be, however. |

They must be confident enough to give up two late picks - guys who probably wouldn't pan out anyway - for him. |

This says it all.
'Kyle Orton retired on them so they went and found the next best thing, a mediocre QB that can bring them an 8-8 season' - Pierceme69
Everybody's an expert.
Everybody has time to watch every single NFL and NHL game, and watch every single player out on the field/ice.
Why can't we just let them do what they're going to do and let the (frank)ing team play the games before we bury them?

The titans chose to go with a sixth rd rookie to lead their franchise over locker...lets just see what the depth chart looks like and what these guys look like after camp breaks. |

Nope. Never said that.
The only opinion I have is that there's no way you watched every single snap of Matt Cassel's last season, so don't act like you know more than the people being paid to professionally scout NFL players.
They obviously think enough of him to trade for him.

That video was of people who get paid to professionally watch and evaluate players. And they said he is a 'mediocre QB who can bring you an 8-8 season' |

At any rate, it's not like they gave up valuable picks for the guy. I just think they could have had someone similar for nothing in a few days. It seems desperate. |

Am i excited for matt freaking cassel heck no..i dont believe its a move to get all worked up about though...i would have preferred locker too(just cause of high pick etc) he sucks too though. A 5th and 7th next yr for cassel and a 6th...even if he just comes in and mentors whoever its worth it.

4.5 Million cap hit and 1 less late draft pick
-or-
9 million cap hit and a late draft pick.
Which do you take.

I'm just saying, there is nothing desperate about giving up a late round pick and saving 4.5 million in salary.
Sanchez is a bum. Hoyer is a bum. Locker is a hurt bum who will be way more expensive than 4.5 mill, Mallett the same. Who did you have in mind? |
