He is the weak link on this team. Extra emphasis on weak. Even BB seems to handle getting knocked around better than him. No wonder JR is pining for Staal. - madmike71
I love staal but it would be stupid if they got him back...they would want more if jr goes crawling to them |

They did play us extremely tight. No room to pass or shoot, everything was blocked. Great positioning and D from COL. We were kind of flat, but like I said we didn't have much room to work with. Give it a few games, we have 3 new players. |

Pens always play a fancy play style game... Gotta get some net crashing and jam in their game and it begins with 87 |

Oh I agree. I just hope they replace Sutter with a better option in the off season. With the direction of the Metro, we just can't have somebody that soft in such an important role.
By the way, I really like Winnik. That line could really be nice if they had a stronger center. |

Also the announcers for the Ducks are saying GMJR approached the them with the proposal. They will NOT stop talking about Despres - znagle

Really limp, soggy game from the Pens. My guess is that they did it Sutter's way. |

Trade sutter and spaling at draft for picks... buyout adams.. decide on either comeau lap or downie... and decide how they should handle kuni.. either trade him for picks or 3rd line
Perron sid horn
Ufa geno Kap
kuni winnik bb
Comeau sund downie
Swap winnik and sund if need be |

No guarantee Kap or Sund can play NHL level next year.. I would say AHL though. That UFA could be Sharp. BB and a pick for him. CHI will be desperate with their cap situation. Cheap ELC guy and a pick moving forward, also I guess Sharp caused a fight in the CHI locker room for sleeping with Kane and Keith's wifes Seems like they would sell low or to the highest bidder. I think he'd look great with Geno. |

I keep Comeau and Winnik. I'd keep Downie if he takes a similar salary. Spaling doesn't even piss me off as much as Sutter anymore. Adams is an UFA anyway. He will retire. |

Colorado just seems to have our number over the last couple years. We get our chances and Valarmov always seems to have the answer. This was one of those games where the bounces were going Colorados way. 9 times out of 10 Fleury saves that Iginila shot, guy crashes the net puck off the skate and rolls in.
After the Malkin goal we were all over them, then plink pass off a skate and Landeskog is off to the races.
Highlights were Cole looks good, faster than I thought he was going to be. Lovejoy sure likes to shoot the puck, thats also a plus.
4th line looked good again, Geno was great again tonight.
3rd line was crap. |

I'm sure GMJR tried to get more from Anaheim. Despres was moved to fill a need. And that was a veteran D - willi
There are teams screaming for young D men with plenty of things to offer. My question is did JR go to all those teams because it is strange that he could only pick up a 'reasonable' D man that is arguably only as good as Despres but older & not contract controlled. Ok we have a few more waiting in the wind but that is not good business to throw away an asset because we have more. Just appears that like the Neal trade there was a knee jerk reaction to something that caused a quick trade. |

It was reported that GMJR asked about Lovejoy's availability early in the season and was told he wasn't available. Then come deadline day, he was made available and JR went for him. We could have only gotten a pick back due to us not having any cap room at all. Maybe we could have swapper BB but I don't think they wanted to do that. We got a good return. Classic hockey trade. - znagle
Lovejoy & a pick would have been nice. Reading some of the opinions on the sports web sites most have the Ducks making the better trade & 2 comments even saying they couldn't believed the trade. But your right, Despres may have got more from elsewhere but if JR wanted Lovejoy & that was the price so be it, he got his man. Let's just hope his man is the right man. |

Kane is not married and sharp, Keith and Keith's wife are filing a joint lawsuit against the website that made that claim. It's just like tsn tweeted Lupol slept with dions wife. It's all BS. Like do you watch the real housewives too? |

Avs will be spoilers this season. They have the talent & now the pressure is off watch their skill go berserk.
Can't Winnik play C? Bench Sutter for a game for Adams & play BB in 3rd line wing. Then kick his arse so hard everyone that doesn't know him thinks he played hide the sausage with the Pittsburgh gay football team!
Edit: didn't realise the Avs are so close to a playoff spot but the quote I read them say they need 28 wins out of 36 which is quite the challenge but again with the mentality of nothing to lose they should play a lot better.
Any chance the Pens were a little complacent against the Avs with 3 'bigger' games to come? |

I'm not having a go but, do you say 'like' every time you start a sentence? That fad is actually dying down here in Australia from what is was like, & it drives me absolutely nuts when people say like out of context - sounds like a Taylor Swift song. See, saying like in context has a place. 'Like' saying like out of context sounds like you are retarded (there's a gif that actually says that - I just can't work out the gif insert protocol ) , so you can 'like' make fun of me now . |

Fell asleep watching the game. Sure seemed like Colorado wanted much more than we did. Disappointing effort. |

Only say until midway through the 2nd but I thought Cole looked really good. Strong in his own end and brought some physical play. |

So Sutter sure seems to be the whipping boy dujour. We score 1 goal and it's the 3rd line centers fault? |

Crosby has got to be better. He lacks interest and leadership sometimes. It's like GENO became Crosby and Crosby became GENO. |

Sutter got torchered on the boards last night. He is just so weak....
So when are we starting the narrative that Sid is pouting to get Kunitz back? I was really upset to see that kind of game out of Sid, not because it was just a bad game, but he had NO effort and Perron and Horny were working their asses off for him. |
