I think the rb position could have been adequately addressed via free agency and/or the draft...and at a lot cheaper salary which helps keep the door open for more signings.
People point out Bradham's play and the emergence of Brown making Kiko tradeable...I don't buy it. I didn't see anything great out of Bradham last year...Brown was a nice surprise as a rookie but I think Kiko was much better than both. - siket71
Whats not to buy? Top 5 D without Kiko...When Kiko played they weren't top 5
Personally I would have liked to see Kiko moved for a QB but QB's don't grow on trees like RB's and LB's

The D as a whole was better than last year. Kiko never played. Kiko is a good young player. But people need to slow way down on the all-star, game changer talk.
Legend > the player. - ImThatGuy
This...the kid was good but he was extremely overrated by a lot of people thanks to social media.
If reports are true Rex wanted Kiko gone from day one.
IMO we have to let this play out before we all just freak out.
We're 6 months away from the start of the season.
Plenty of time for change. - dadeadhead
I watched Kiko play every game 2 seasons ago....he was dynamic...he was also runner up for defensive rookie of the year...at a position the bills lacked a great player for years at...and now he's gone...for a running back that could have been replaced another route.
I can totally understand Rex wanting his guys...but why wouldn't he want a potential all pro player? And what "reports" do you speak of? Why would he want him gone from day 1 as you say...that makes zero sense.
And billieve you me...after 15 years of this crap...freak outs are acceptable.

I think the D would have been even better this year with him.

I could care less about his grammar, But he needs all the help we can give him.
So my care is right about in the middle - cabin
Well, I couldn't care less that you could care less about his grammar, but I know that you know that he knows that I care more about his grammar and couldn't care less about chicken, Cassel or Vasilevskiy, who also couldn't care less.

Kiko was undersized..he was able to roam cause of our d line...we got a bonafide star something this city has been lacking...mediocre players bring mediocre play...

Which is entirely possible.
But the D was great last year. Rex should in theory keep it at that level or make it better.
The offense needs a lot of work.
Going out and getting arguably the best back in football for a guy who didn't play last year on the D side seems entirely reasonable to me. - ImThatGuy
No matter what that organization does people will never be happy.
It's part of why I for the most part cut it out of my life.

Kiko = Posluszny
He looked great the first half of the season. The second half he looked ok/average. Both guys were fan favorites and registered a lot of tackles. Problem with both though, was neither are good at stopping the run. Sure they tackle a lot, but when it's 7-10 yds down the field at the end of a run, what good is it?

Wow... so now the Sabres top 2 dman prospects have been lost to injury in the past week...crazy! Hope they both recover by next season.
As for da Bills....I hate that Whaley gave up Kiko who will now likely become that all pro mlb that fans hoped he'd be for the next 10 years...except it will be for the dang Eagles. - siket71
No one 'gave up' on him. McCoy makes Alonso expendable. But seriously, apparently Rex didn't see Alonso as a fit and chose to use him as a trade chip instead. The trade makes sense to me and seems to make sense to most media members, most seem to be in favor of the Bills despite the wild amount of cap they took on. Restructuring is key to the deal, apparently.

Jones. Vasilevskiy.
Anyone else out there? - grand-magus
If the Flames don't re-sign Ramo, he might be a possibility.
If the Sabres are gonna sign guys like Neuvirth or Dubnyk, I think 3 year deals would be a good time line and let Petersen and Ullmark develop in Rochester. I would think in 3 years those two could be ready.
