Yeah let's say he won't win a physical battle against Jeff Carter anytime soon. His forechecking skills are not that good either because of it, he doesn't have Gallagher's tenacity.

But give him a little open ice and he'll find those open lanes like the third goal. He also improved on his faceoffs, that clear win led to Gilbert's goal.

Last time i checked, DD, Plekanec, Eller and Malhotra were all above 50% in faceoff. De La Rose is probably above too since he took the center spot away from Eller.

What I take from this is that Corsi and Fenwick are meaningless.

They simply do not work consistently enough on a sample size of one team and are WAY less meaningful on a sample size of a single player.

We're not talking about salary or term. Straight up production. Nobody is talking about Sekac's paycheque vs. Smith-Pelley's.

Point is, each player brings something different. Sekac couldn't hit like DSP if he was playing against 12 yr olds. Sekac wasn't putting up points in Montreal, and the guy they got for trading him isn't either, but all of a sudden Sekac should have been kept? For 3 (frank)ing assists?
