We had him signed for three more years with almost nothing guaranteed - I absolutely would have taken that instead of putting ourselves in cap jail down the road.

That's what I took out of the deal. He gets more guaranteed money for a lower cap hit. In my eyes its a win win for the Bills and McCoy.

I don't see Gionta and Gorges as part of the future core. To me, this core is looking like Girgensons, McDavid, Reinhart, Risto, Kane and Pysyk. The only piece missing here in the core is the goaltender.

I'd add Ennis & McCabe to that list... And we've got Moulson for 4 more years, so I think you've gotta count him as well. Bogosian will be a leader for this team for quite a while. And I don't anticipate Deslauriers going anywhere any time soon either.

Grigorenko is most likely traded at some point. He doesn't seem like the type of player Murray wants. He's prob got pretty decent trade value.
I think Murray likes the type of player that Zadorov is, but it also seems like he's pretty fed up with his antics. If Murray can find another young defenseman to take his place, I could see him traded as well.
