Pride goes out the door in the face of $$$. If I'm him I smile and I hang a basketball net on the Shelley suite door and have Luke tape me making a no look shot from the corner of the suite - Just5
Do you really think that? I don't, after you've made a certain amount. It's not like he's VDV fighting to play enough games to qualify for the pension
Wheels isn't a longtime Flyer. He has made a home down in Tampa and has made a lot of money
I still think when he realizes that likely no team will trade for him that he will have the conversation with his family about what he wants to do, if Berube is the coach next season |

honestly, the Vinny LeCavalier signing is probably the worst FA signing ever in Flyers history. - KGBflyers10

You really think Wheels is worse? Huh
They were paying Bryz $10 million for those first couple of seasons, so I just can't go there with you |

I was very excited when they signed him. I was hoping he would do what Jagr had provided. Just didn't work out as well. |

Ha! I can't see that, not now, unless Big Ed orders something to be done
Hextall might get the gate if they don't win enough, soon enough, but I think he'll go down with the ship
I say that because he probably could've added a piece or two to this roster at the deadline, but opted not to do that. He just might try to stick with draft-and-develop

Same here.. I always liked him when he was with Tampa. I was excited at first, but that quickly faded.
It's just like the Phillies though. They see a name on the FA list and think "Hey, that's a big name.. how is he on the list?! We need to sign him to too much money!"... not realizing, the guy is on the list for a reason at his age.. he was good.. |

technically not a FA signing. They're both pretty terrible contracts in retrospect though. |

If they scratched Jake and put Vinny on G's line.....THAT'S a full open tank.
That would border on being a "Hinkie". |

I know it's tough, but put the sarcasm aside for a second*. Why exactly has RJ Umberger been exempt from the accountability thing until now? I'm not even saying he should've been scratched all season, but where other players have faced short term scratches for poor play RJ has played 67 games. Why is he different?
Ok, sarcasm reactivated.

It's a valid question. They gave him every opportunity to play his way out of it.
Basically, this is Berube shuffling his way through options that range from bad to worse. |

Lol, league would be pulling down over $7B in revenue to have that happen -- that's like NFL-level poop, lol. |

I don't think this franchise can afford to sign ANYONE in free agency this summer with any sort of significant salary or term.. |

If NJ wins and we lose tonight in regulation. We are 2 points removed from sole possession of the 7th pick |

Unless Wheels or Umberger goes, they probably shouldn't
One of those deals has to go before you start shaping this roster for the future with help from the outside
Until one of those deals is gone, try to promote from within with your drafted players
