Its been a total disaster. In Holmgrens defense though....Who would have ever guessed a future HOF'er, 50 goal scorer, Olympic World Cup Champion, 400 career goal scoring player would fall flat on his face at the age of 32-33??!! Thats Flyers luck right there. - GOA88
He was a player in decline, but was still a pretty good player his last year in TB. Once he had the back injury last year, he was never the same. |

Use it as a carrot for him to perform better at ES?
And who is to say it isn't Top 4 in spite of Brayden Schenn? - johndewar
This. B Schenn is the 5th wheel out there and I don't think they'd miss a beat without him. Again, what is there to lose in trying? |

Schenn would be a damn good player if he played with intensity every game. He usually steps his game up in the playoffs. |

Well....the Flyers were kind of going against the tide, in terms of what usually happens to players when they hit that age. You definitely take a risk when you sign a guy at that age, with that many miles. |

Yup. He's got the talent, apparently lacks the will. |

Or you could have a player like Jagr, Recchi, Weight, Iginla, etc., etc. etc....that perform well into their late 30's. WTF VINNNNNNYYYYY!!!! |

plays his best hockey against the Pens too
that will be what I say after he is traded and goes on to flourish with another team
I'm sort of joking here, I think if Hexy can make a hockey trade and get a young/same age scoring wing back in the deal it may get done
I don't see them trading low on Schenn just to make a deal though |

Better to keep him up there if it's still working -- not sure the team would be any better off w/ him on PP2. |

I mean, thats easy to say but he has shown that he has the skill and physicality to be very effective. Problem is he usually only displays that in a handful of games a season and the playoffs. |

You guys will like Martel, I saw him play the last few years with the Armada. Small but very fast skater. He's feisty and doesn't take a night off.
I was wondering if he would be recruited by the Habs, but then again, he would have been just another midget with them. I'm happy to see that a team has given him a chance.
Those are the kind of moves that don't cost an organization much, and you never know. - stinger67
Is he more a center or winger? They need help at both in the system. |

I'd be fine if he is traded for a winger. However.... I think they really need to evaluate who to trade. Schenn, Couts or Laughton. Laughton has'nt had the chance to fail yet, per say. The other two only give you flashes what they could be. Very frustrating. |

IMO Schenn needs a couple of speedy wingers to back the D up to give him room to shoot from the high slot -- that was his bread and butter in junior.

Luke just needs another FHOF'er to carry his water for him. |
