As much as I'd like to see that, I don't think it will happen.

I think he has earned another contract and another shot to make the team in camp. if he doesn't then he gets waived and sent down if he clears. No reason not to bring him back

Vande Velde probably isn't going anywhere. He's cheap, he popped in some goals on 4th line duty and in the "Your Connections Matter" department, he played college hockey with the GM's son.

Hard to say, but I think (hope anyway) he's not part of their "solution" moving forward. White has pretty much made him irrelevant out there, and more often than not, he's a liability.

Umberger didn't escape being scratched because his play didn't warrant it. There was just really no reason to do so. Nothing to gain by it. The other options weren't better. By it's very nature, looking at it on an individual basis is hazy.

Also the pairing of him and Bellemare have done a good job on PK with pressure. Could take some PK off Couturier. I think Vandevelde is the perfect 4th line player. Him and Bellemare and maybe someone like Cousins or possibly Leirer. They can play solid d but create chances.

He was a player in decline, but was still a pretty good player his last year in TB. Once he had the back injury last year, he was never the same.

Cmon MB, he's creative. He likes to add a little spice to his articles

I do honestly like some of the stuff he writes sometimes, on a rare occasion he writes about something and it's like "hmmm I've never thought about x player or x team like that before", but 90% of the time, he's writing the most outrageous, coyotes/ OEL/Yandle biased articles. Which is ironic... cuz its the coyotes... and cuz yandle doesn't play for the yotes anymore... but he still defends yandle to his grave lol

I don't want to just rehash past debates, and I don't want to give the impression that I think Chief's decisions are even a main reason this team is on the outside looking in. I do think his position is rightfully in question.
