I'm willing to say he's 50% of the problem. The team doesn't even look prepared to play most nights. - SuperSchennBros
To me, it boils down to one thing, I don't think he's a good coach and I have little faith that he can either get them to a Stanley Cup or be the guy laying the foundation to a Stanley Cup team. If you don't have a lot of faith in the guy, then the percentage you blame him may as well be 100%, you know?
I'd say 50% is fair, but my issue is I don't think he can be the guy moving them forward. |

Why do you think he scratched Umberger now, at this point in the season? Because I honestly can't come up with one. - feelingkettle
I think the main reason is he simply wanted to get Lecavalier back in the lineup. Looking at who the logical choices are to come out of the lineup, in my opinion, it would be between Umberger and Rinaldo. Looking at the last few games, and this doesn't bode well for Umberger, but Rinaldo has been the better player. I don't see what the big deal is really.

I personally don't see any problem with his management of goalies. I don't think anyone agrees with every move any coach makes. Lecavalier hasn't exactly cemented his spot in the lineup. I think things happen when a coach has limited options, but nobody wants to consider what the alternatives were, as part of the equation. The last, that's just coach speak, and declining to discuss why he chose now. I'm sure he has his reasons for that. Nothing there that is ridiculous in my opinion. To each his own. - MJL
After the 3-2 Flyers loss against the Leafs when we tried to come back, you saw the mood of the locker room. Berube thought they played fine. The team thought they played fine. I thought they were terrible, Horrific and I know you felt the same. That was one of those games where our Coach should have ripped into the team and you know what? I don't think he did. |

Breer just tweeted they are hammering out the conditional pick now, syas they are swapping picks, not necessarily 1st rounders.
Can't see the Eagles having interest in anything but moving to number 10 or higher. |

Epic fail if they didn't move up in the 1st with this move.
Foles has been the better QB and the move gets the Rams out of cap hell. |

I really think there's a point to the switch at this point. This should have been done a long time ago. I don't even understand at least not taking him off of the 2nd power play unit. I mean, why wouldn't Umberger be scratched long before this? Was it that he was trying hard? Because I'm pretty sure a lot of the guys he scratched have tried hard. I just don't get it. |

So the corpse is getting scratched, Frank Gore was almost an Eagle until he realized that Chip is a douche and we sent Foles to the Rams for a paper mache QB and a chance to move up to the 10th pick?? Oh, and Cliff Lee needs surgery and Embiid broke his foot again??
JFC, the question isn't why do I drink, the question os why don't I drink more!

It's an epic fail either say IMO, but without the move up it's actually just laughable. |

I certainly don't agree with that assessment after that game, but I'm not going to focus on what players or the coach say to the media, because the message behind closed doors may or may not be different. I'm not going to speculate on what he did, and use that to criticize the coach.

I honestly felt Vincent Lecavalier at one point played good enough on the fourth line to be considered being moved up once the fourth line lost it's sizzle. At least a chance to prove he can still make it as a top 6 or 9 player. It never happened and I don't think that's fair. |

Agree, a new coach is needed. Also replacing at least a quarter and hopefully a third of the roster would help too |

Fairness isn't in Berube's mind and it's going to cost him the lockerroom at some point.
MDZ gets benched for nearly and entire month but it takes until March to see RJ sat down? Vinny earned some time earlier and he's been written off almost entirely. Akeson looked decent. Straka looked good. But Rinaldo cones back by default.
I'm over arguing about him. He is just not a good coach. |

I'd feel better if Laughton or Straka were replacing him rather than Vinny but yeah, its something at least |

If there's no point to it now, which I'm assuming is what you meant to type, then what would've been the point earlier? Do you honestly think this switch is going to make a significant difference? This coach only has so many weapons to deploy. Scratching Umberger wouldn't have changed anything earlier, just as it won't now. Different players are scratched for different reasons. Taking Umberger off of the PP wouldn't have changed much in my opinion. I would've been fine if he did that, but that's not a reason why this team is where it is.
Honestly, everyone is looking at minor things, and wondering why this coach wasn't able to walk on water and create a miracle. We talk and talk about how players haven't player well and have regressed. About the inconsistency of the players and the team. How they don't have a good defense, and need this or need that. Yet want to criticize the coach for not being able to polish what they call a turd into a diamond!

Also reports out there that it's a second rounder.
Unless the condition is whether they can sign him to an extension. I can't see the Rams swapping first rounders for a QB in the last year of his contract. |
