i've been in his shoes, albeit not at the pro level. the apologies for poor play wear thin after awhile. - hammarby31
It's one thing if you say to your goalie, "I'm sorry I screwed up. I tried my best and made a mistake" But when you go to your goalie and apologize because you didn't even compete...
Right now, I want to see somebody (frank)ing embarrassed on the roster. Just bury a vet in the AHL. Send a guy home for a week, something drastic and stupid |

dont get me wrong. if bradford stays healthy, i think chip can coax some damn good numbers out of him (if they get another wideout. matthews is a nice slot guy, but he cannot be the number one right now). but the health factor, at least in my mind, should have knocked some serious luster off of bradford's perceived value. then, considering the cap savings. not necessarily the most important thing, but it still should play somewhat of a role.
i still think chip heavily lusts for mariota, but i really dont see how he has the horses to get it done. if it would have been the rumored deal involving the eagles first and the rams first, then maybe. but i dont know. - stayinthefnnet
Nah, he targeted Bradford, that's his guy and it will likely be the determining factor of his legacy as the Eagles coach/gm.
EDIT: In conjunction with the other moves he makes this spring and summer. Bradford's on a one year deal, but he's got a huge cap hit and is injury prone. If he goes down or isn't good, how much patience does Lurie have? He was patient with Reid, but Reid showed steady progression and then stayed a good team for a long time.
If Kelly is a flash in the pan and then goes on a two or three year stretch of bad teams, does he have enough cache to survive? Does he decide to bail to college? |

goalies make mistakes too. when i make one, i own it. but i always compete. always. even when every single thing ends up behind me no matter what i do...and some nights that happens.
the scratching of umberger today is really the end for me with berube. i don't think hextall does anything. he seems remarkably cool, calculated and not reactionary.

I'd take everyone off the PP and start building it based on who starts playing their ass off 5 on 5. No more padding stats with PP points for the "names" on this team. PP one right now: Ryan White, PEB and Raffl.
That will wake some guys up real quick. |

Yep. That'd be effective. I'd start spacing out Mason's starts, too. I'm not sure he's 100% and why risk it? You got yourself a very good, plus starter. Don't push him when the games are more or less meaningless. |

i dont know. i really do think he is a good coach. but maybe he pulls an andy reid and ultimately buries himself with his own power as a GM.
they really need to figure out wide receiver, or it doesnt matter who is under center.

They have a couple kids with a ton of natural atheltic skill, who are raw and could be good. Matthews, especially. I think having guys like Ertz and Celek help here, too. But they do lack that "presence" for lack of a better word. |

just pull a saint louis rams with him.
secretly (or hell, not so secretly) ponder just how badly you want to get out from his contract, and sell him to the highest bidder.

I think Marriota is still Chip's guy and he will do what it takes to get him. Lots can happen between now and the draft. I think this is likely a 2 tier trade, or 3 way trade that hasn't been consummated yet.
Chip is going to get brutalized in these trades (already has), but if he wants Marriota he will get him, there's nothing stopping him at this point. It certainly doesn't hurt that there's been speculation from the Jets wanting to add a veteran QB (Bradford has been mentioned).
The Rams stared down Chip Kelly and won, they really weren't up against the wall with Bradford. I think in order to trade him they'd have to win it hands down which they did. They got a starting QB in Foles which they couldn't have gotten from the Jets if they dealt with them directly, Foles is obviously better than any UFA and cheaper!
The Jets hold all the cards with their position. Rumors are out there that they'd rather have Bradford than Winston or Marriota. So now they are in a position to extrapolate multiple picks including first rounder(s) and Bradford for the 6th pick.
Say what you want but Bradford has a pedigree and has done good things in this league when healthy. Which is the big issue.
I don't think anyone can say that this deal will go down. Things can happen, dirt could be uncovered on top prospects, etc. that juggle the board. But I think there's about a 75% chance still that Marriota is an Eagle next year

He is done in 2 yrs if they don't at least make the NFC title game. You don't make so many holes like this and come out like Teflon unless you win. This really is Marlins type of unprecedented roster molding. He clearly wants his own legacy, for better or worse. Will still be a fan, but I am very cynical and jaded. |

despite the evidence right now staring me in the face pulling me the other way, i really think this is what chip still wants, and if he has his way, he will do it. it just sucks for him when everyone knows how desperate you are. he is going to pay through the nose at every turn.
i just dont know if he can pull it off. he may have asked bradford to the dance inthe hope of hooking up with someone else, but when the music stops he may be stuck with who he brought.

emery probably doesn't want to play for fear of getting hurt and not getting another contract somewhere else next year. although it's likely the end of the line for him either way.
i just want the season to end without injury to any of the key players..which is about 4 guys. |

ill say this. its easy and different for me because i've been fairly neutral to the eagles so i dont feel any sort of pain or betrayal.
but his handling of the roster from day one has made me care about/pull for the eagles more than ever before.
again, if someone did this to one of the two teams i actually did care deeply about, i wouldnt be nearly as giddy about the outcome of such a science experiment.

It's possible. I'm not really knocking Bradford, but he does have his warts, besides injury. That pedigree, could be worth something.
It's hard to get a read on Kelly. Maybe he just felt he needed to rebuild to have a real chance at a SB. Maybe he still goes hard for Mariotta. |

I'm always jaded when it comes to the Eagles. It's part of why they're third in terms of the teams I root for, and a distant one at that.
I'd say Kelly has balls, but if this experiment blows up, he can still run off to college for a pooppot fulla money |

(frank), call up Zepp and Stolarz then. Starting Mason when the season is over is like continuing to bet when you know someone has a royal straight flush. Just a waste. |
