What is amazing about Howard is that, even though it is universally known and accepted that he was brutal last year. He still hit 23 hr and drove in 95 runs.
Some AL team somewhere will take him as a DH if the Phillies agree to retain salary.

Yes, for a game or 2, it looked good. Then BSchenn became BSchenn. - jmatchett383
So he sucks and needs to be traded IMMEDIATELY. |

Raffl works a lot harder than B Schenn does, and through that creates chances for his line. - wolfhounds
And therein lies the problem with Schenn.

I read they were offering to take up to 2/3rds of the rest of the deal. |

The bigger problem is that we traded Hartnell for him.
There is no sugar coating it. We traded a fan favorite, a guy who was extremely well like, a guy who was consistently productive for RJ Umberger a gasp of cap relief in the future.
Terrible trade. Hartnell has more goals than Umberger has points. |

Man that just speaks volumes about the problems on this team.
1. Not a single legit 1 line left wing anywhere to be found
2. A solid number 5/6 dman is playing on your first pair. That is no indictment of Schultz either. I love having a player like that as your 5 or 6 because he goes out, does his job and to this point hasnt caused them problems. On the first pairing though ugh.
3. A third line that is better suited to a 4th line.
The off season can't get here soon enough. |

You can accuse Rinaldo of many things , usually justified , but him not hustling or going all out is not one of them.
As a matter of fact I would say if you compared the two VL is way more prone to looking like he is not trying then Rinaldo is. - opeth_pa
No, I wouldn't accuse him of that.. I worded my post misleading, that's my mistake. He does hustle, I give the kid that. The major knock on him is the discipline. |

I don't. The problem is that he just doesn't seem to fit anywhere. He had some mild success with Read/Couturier (which Berube has refused to revisit) but other than that, he hasn't really fit anywhere. |

If he doesnt fit anywhere than what gives? He cant even collect points playing with the 2 best players on the team. In fact he renders that line almost useless when he plays on it |

Berube has a bad roster, but there's better options than this. The defense is pretty much a mess, regardless, but I'd do something different up front. Not a fan of Schenn with G & Jake. Not a fan of 36 in the top 9. |

Personally, I don't care what my position is supposed to be, If I got the opportunity to play with those two I would be so jacked up I could barely keep myself contained.
