So 89 you are saying his entire post was accurate or just some pieces of it, like the Myers and O'Reilly part? How does he get the opportunity to talk to Murray for 2 hours? That is strange, and then post it here? - mhp
It'd be funny if the canadian/american thing he said was true. Especially after the McNabb Fasching trade, and even trading for Bogosian.

I don't know how he got to talk with Murray, you would have to ask him. I know that Murray didn't want Myers or Armia I posted that, he doesn't want any of Darcy's trash. Murray likes ROR and will do what he can to grab him in the offseason. As far as LaFontaine goes, I heard that what was told to him by Pegula when the job was offered to him changed as the year went on and LaFontaine felt that Kim Pegula was getting to " involved " in certain area's of LaFontaine's duties so he step down.

Even if it was all BS, which I don't believe to be the case, in this second consecutive season of garbage on ice, it's nice to have at least some entertaining reading. - kingcong39
I'd prefer to read (reed, reid [did I do it right?]) quality rumors and not just nonsense created by a couple of the hacks that drop by on occasion. But if 89 backs this guy I'm more inclined to take it as gospel.

Yeah accept Minnesota really is part of canada for all intensive purposes.

Yeah that didn't make a bunch of sense to me. As a scout/GM, you look at a lot of players and shouldn't take into consideration where they are from. That was pretty bizarre. I do believe some of what Beezer posted though. I definitely seeing us trading our other 1st and two prospects for ROR.

What is a quality rumor these days?
I come here to read as many rumors as possible to be entertained, which is the same reason I watch hockey.
We have different outlooks is all, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Then it's completely bizarre to me why someone would jeopardize their connection to GMTM by spilling his mildly inflammatory opinions to a random rumor blog. Unless GMTM wants him to. As I posted earlier back in the thread, what's the benefit to providing so much insider detail and risk losing that connection? - BackSlider
I wish I could answer that but I can't, I've said before my uncle's friend is on the staff and most everyone here would know who he is and have seen him during games when they show the bench. I think Beezer's guy is higher up, i'm not 100% sure on that.

Thanks 89. I always appreciate your insights on the team.

Along with what is done with Hodgson, what is traded for O'Reilly is my biggest question heading into the offseason. It would be the other late 1st, Grigorenko, and...? Hodgson? No way on that. Another young player in the system? I wouldn't part with either Pysyk or McCabe for him.
It seems clear that Murray only wants guys that will make an impact on the ice in some way, even when not scoring. Grigorenko does not do that often.
My top 3 questions in the offseason are...
1. Hodgson
2. Remolding the D with an FA signing or two
3. Potential trade for O'Reilly

TBH I don't know, there's just something about certain ones that feel forced and obviously come from an imaginative mind. The Beezer post felt that way to me IMO. And there are definitely a handful here who have some kind of connection, those are the 'quality rumors'.

I try to pass along what i'm told, not always 100% but it's close. I knew about the Kane deal before it happened but when I posted it I didn't know all the names at the time.

There is a sucker born every minute.
Rule 1: never believe anyone has a source on here. They don't.
