And you all will see me being "that guy" making faces and poop anytime a penalty is taken by the box. No, I do not know which side I am on... but I'll be wearing a Penguins Brooks Orpik Jersey. |

HAHAHA a -3 steal what a bargain!!!
- nbartley9
He looked like a steal their first two games, now hes inconsistent... If he can ever stay at his high level, he will be an absolute steal. I just don't believe he can after so many years here of being what he is.
I'd still rather have kept him and traded Scuds for Lovejoy, the cap would have worked out, even with us retaining 750K a year as a buttkissing to them.

Gee... where have we seen this? |

As answered in the last blog.... "A few times in the previous blogs
"
To add to that... a little less max skill for a LOT more consistency is what our trade really ended up being. |

Well no kidding, but Lovejoy is a solid number 4 on a cheap contract. Why in the world would ANA take Scuderi for him?

That was just so much wishful thinking on us possibly finding a buyer for Scuds since he looked... decent this season. |

They wouldn't. A fair trade would have been Scuderi and Despres for Lovejoy because Scuderi is a negative asset with his contract.

I would have done that as well! But we would have needed to hold a bit of Scuds's money, around 700K. |

I'd be happy to do that. It would be worth it to clear him off the roster. I predict by next season he will be interfering with a better player from taking his place (if he hasn't already). |

The only reason I think he was kept and not shopped around hard... was Ehrhoff's concussion issues. |

Lovejoy brings a different style of play. He may be slightly better now with his consistency but he sure wasn't better than Despres @ 23yo. I didnt like the return for #47 even though I like the Reverend. We are better at the moment defensively no doubt. |

It's a short sample size but right now I'd rather have Cole and Ehrhoff as the bottom pair than Ehrhoff and Scuds. (nothing against Ehrhoff by the way, but I really like Lovejoy and Pouliot right now) |

While I do not believe they would ever make Ehrhoff play in the bottom pairing due to who he is, I think that would be better for him until hes finally shaken off the concussion issues.
Or, they just make Lovejoy Pouliot the "bottom pairing" with Ehrhoff Cole the 2nd... but both those two pairings play near equal time. So each is like a 2nd pairing in a sense. |

Is this going to turn into a mass request from all here for me to actually make the sign? |

I can already see the gif in my head.
Downie goes to the box and slowly behind him a head pops up with a sign: Bartley <3 Sutter.
That would be gif of the year. |

They might do that initially. I think it will end up being Ehrhoff and Lovejoy as the 2nd pairing and Pouliot and Scuderi/Cole in the bottom pairing.

Ehrhoff healthy is in another level compared to Lovejoy. As I said once we traded for the Reverend: he's the Spaling of our D. He's Sound positionally and you barely notice him out there but makes almost everything right. It's good to have players that play the system well.
Shot supression: DET (0.72), PIT/WIN/LA (0.74). We are in good company. |
