JR is so cool in person. Personable, friendly, engaging, I loved talking to him the few times Ive met him. - MBFlyerfan
Absolutely. I disagree 100000000% with his politics and almost all of his hockey opinions... but he was incredibly nice. He also thanked me for complimenting him on his career, whereas John Leclair was just sort of like 'oh that's great. see ya.' |

Jeremy Roenick two playoffs in a row against the Toronto Maple Leafs were the single greatest preferences I've ever seen by one player in my life...to my memory. He was awesome and man did he take punishment. |

Not too surprising. Jibes with Lauren Hart being nice to some and not so nice to others. They're regular people, so they'll act how they're going to act at a given moment. Too bad he was like that though, he really was fun to talk to. |

Well maybe if you'd moved your ass and gotten her a fat free latte and a gallon of Turkey Hill triple fudge ice cream like she'd asked, she would have been more engaging. - jmatchett383

Yes. Waiting an extra 10 minutes (or less) in that game versus the Predators in a blizzard would have extended my arrival home from 5:30 to 5:45. - jmatchett383

Agreed. Though I would explore packaging our 1st from Tampa with B Schenn to see if they can move up somewhere between 8-12 - BiggE
right now they are 8th. Save winning the lottery, they won't be lower than 7 or higher than 12 in my opinion. tampa's pick which is 25 now (of course that can change a bit depending on the final 4). I'm happy with that and would just use thos two picks to take the best player on the board. As far as rostered players i would like to see them hold onto Jake, Simmonds, Couturier and G (no player is untouchable of course) as far as the top 9 players. Anyone else could be had. One of Grossmann/Schenn moved being they have Gudas. I want to see more size, skill and speed. problem is they have too many bottom 6 players and are stuck with Umberger and Vinny. Sadly this just doesn't seem like a short term fix to get out from under some of this mess. 3 more years of Vinny and 2 of Umberger. |

Only one person is capable of taking a clear statement about Claude Giroux's leadership of a team and obfuscate the clear point that was made.
Which was: Claude Giroux will be considered a better leader once the Flyers have better players.
One guy wants to pretend that Giroux's leadership is lacking because the 14th leading scorer in the league isn't leading enough.
Giroux is clearly responsible for the fact that the Flyers dressed five fourth-liners last night against the team with the fourth-best goals-against in the entire sport.
Did anyone expect Wheels to score last night? How about Brayden Schenn? Even Sean Couturier?
Serious question. After Giroux and Voracek, who, exactly, did anybody sit at home and say, "Yeah, Player X is getting one tonight?"
Nobody said that. Including the St. Louis Blues. They know if they put their best checkers and defensemen on Giroux, no one else is going to beat them.
"Leadership" remains the silliest concept in the world where 19 guys are on the ice at varying times.
Claude Giroux will be a better "leader" when the black holes on this roster are long gone. It's not any harder than that. |

Yes. That is what this forum is for. Expressing your personal opinions and views. I'm sorry I can't speak for how the other 19,000 people felt at that game. In the future, I (and everyone else I will speak for) will attempt to do better. |

Lauren is extremely nice. How many times have you met her? - bmeltzer
ps, we did share a nice moment regarding her Dad. I told her how important he was to me growing up and how much I missed his game calls. I said "he meant a lot to me" and she said "me too!" So that was nice. |

All top players on teams receive a high level of focus from the opposition on a regular basis. I disagree that a top player can't get much done in the situation the Flyers are in. It's still 5 on 5 hockey. - MJL
who are these players that are on bad teams that are better than giroux and voracek? |

All Flyers sources I know and trust have either vehemently denied Frank's report or have said they have do not know the reason for Jeff Reese's departure. No one will say what the real was, even on an off-the-record basis.
As such, I do not know what the reason was (nor would I write it if I did unless someone with firsthand knowledge went directly on record). What I do know is that the response against what the DN reported was immediate and very strong. |

To jump in for a moment, you missed a big part of his point, namely:
when there are no other threats on the team and the opposition only focuses on you then your not going to get much done no matter what level you play at...
They Flyers are and have been practically the entire season a 1 line team. |

John is not talking about Randy's article on Giroux. He is referring to the DN report on Reese's departure.

Bill,
Can the Flyers bring Lindblom over from Sweden once his season ends? Do you think he will come over next season or will he probably stay in the SEL? |

Totally.
It was pretty hilarious though. My friend legit had no idea who he was. And was just like "That's cool, I don't care."
Only famous person I ever dealt with on the job was The Mouth of the South, Jimmy Hart. |

@RandyJMiller: “@JohnBorukCSN: the most inaccurate and irresponsible thing written about Flyers this season.” real reason for Reese leaving will come out
Lol. So Randy claiming the real reason for Reese leaving will validate his claims about Giroux captaincy being questioned. This is fun
