Wants a say in the hiring of a coach. Called out his teammates two games ago. He's playing great but that's a little ballsy for a guy who's career was in shambles a few seasons ago. - psuhockey
I have zero issue in him wanting to have a say in the goalie coach and absolutely love that he called the team out. She should. Guy plays hard and gives it 100% every game |

Bill,
Can the Flyers bring Lindblom over from Sweden once his season ends? Do you think he will come over next season or will he probably stay in the SEL? - J35Bacher
I don't think he's ready yet but they could do something similar to what they did with Hägg this season.

@RandyJMiller: “@JohnBorukCSN: the most inaccurate and irresponsible thing written about Flyers this season.” real reason for Reese leaving will come out
Lol. So Randy claiming the real reason for Reese leaving will validate his claims about Giroux captaincy being questioned. This is fun

Really, it's enough. I used to enjoy Lauren Hart too, but she overdoes the whole thing now. Stop doing the dumb white girl hand gestures while you're singing. Stop making every note last four bars too long. The only thing worse than trotting out the Kate Smith business is when Lauren starts singing along. Cripes its embarrassing.
Also, Lauren Hart: not terribly friendly in real life. - ThirdEye
Kind of surprising, I meet her at a game and asked for a picture and she came up in the stands and was very pleasant and friendly with everyone. Maybe she got laid that day? |

I'm sure Frank got it from someone in Reese camp.
The Flyers should come out and give an answer about why he left. This poop wouldn't happen if they were a little more forthcoming. Franks article adds up too. They've been pressed for cap space all season and Mason admitted to not being game ready. I would understand if Reese was pissed about Mason being put in without an injury to the other goalie |

Only one person is capable of taking a clear statement about Claude Giroux's leadership of a team and obfuscate the clear point that was made.
Which was: Claude Giroux will be considered a better leader once the Flyers have better players.
One guy wants to pretend that Giroux's leadership is lacking because the 14th leading scorer in the league isn't leading enough.
Giroux is clearly responsible for the fact that the Flyers dressed five fourth-liners last night against the team with the fourth-best goals-against in the entire sport.
Did anyone expect Wheels to score last night? How about Brayden Schenn? Even Sean Couturier?
Serious question. After Giroux and Voracek, who, exactly, did anybody sit at home and say, "Yeah, Player X is getting one tonight?"
Nobody said that. Including the St. Louis Blues. They know if they put their best checkers and defensemen on Giroux, no one else is going to beat them.
"Leadership" remains the silliest concept in the world where 19 guys are on the ice at varying times.
Claude Giroux will be a better "leader" when the black holes on this roster are long gone. It's not any harder than that. - AllInForFlyers
When and if the Flyers get a better team surrounding Claude Giroux, he will still see the same diligent checking and attention from other teams defensively that he sees now. Opponents game plan will still be to shut down and limit the opposition's top players. That's why Coaches simply try to get the best match ups whenever they can. That responsibility won't change for Giroux. No matter what players surround him. Nobody is blaming Giroux for the roster of the team he plays on. I believe that Giroux is more of an on ice leader with his play, then he is a motivator or locker room policeman. I don't think that Giroux has played up to the level that he needs to play at, to lead this team on the ice. He has scored 2 goals in the last 21 games. Certainly Giroux is not the biggest issue with this team, but his play lately is an issue nonetheless.
To be clear, I don't have doubts about Giroux in the future. I believe he is just having a down period, like all top players do on occasion, and will bounce back. Nor do I think he should be stripped as Captain, or any nonsense like that. I still believe he is a player to build around, and has great qualities as a player.

I have always wondered which organization member would go bat-poop insane first on somebody in the media: Flyers or Leafs
Been awhile since Clarke called Panaccio an a-hole, while Ron Wilson was in rare form plenty of times up in the Big Smoke and I kinda thought the Leafs would lose it over the Phaneuf/Lupul tweet |

To jump in for a moment, you missed a big part of his point, namely:
They Flyers are and have been practically the entire season a 1 line team. - wolfhounds
That's incorrect, I did not miss that part at all. I have stated multiple times, that all top players, on good or bad teams, see extreme focus and diligent checking, and are faced with playing against top checkers and top defenseman, on a nightly basis

1. Make general point.
2. Argue that no one understands your point.
3. Belitte others in a non-direct yet condescending way.
4. Pat self on back.
5. Repeat step 2. |

Perhaps the Flyers are respecting Jeff Reese wanting to keep the issue private? As he stated in the brief statement he made. There's been tons of speculation on this, that was accepted as fact.

Simple question
Can Claude Giroux "lead" Wheels to a goal?
Can Claude Giroux "lead" Luke Schenn to think faster and recognize plays better?
Can Claude Giroux "lead" RJ Umberger back to 2008?
No. Because there's no such thing as "leadership." There's only the crutch that people lean on when the team isn't good enough, so they can excuse the worst players for not being able to get the job done because the best player didn't carry 7 guys across the finish line

To try and balance out the lines, and because they went into a slump and weren't producing at the same level as they were previously.
