The real question is, who do they choose if they pick 3rd?
Do they pick Hanifin and deal big Z+ for some offensive help?
Do they go Strome? - grand-magus
They deal the 3rd overall pick...they move down (no further than top 10) and a top 6 forward |

So, you just swap out your wussy team for an entire "tough team"
now THATS sound reasoning.
Why haven't the Sabres swapped out their suck team for a cup team?
Murray is a BUST! - seedy
Has anyone taken liberties on us since Scott left?
He was here for "protection" to make us seem tougher than we were. There has been no difference without him. Guys like Stewart/Delauriers/Foligno are the guys that fill that role, while at the same time being able to play NHL minutes |

NBC Washington's Dianna Marie Russini reports Percy Harvin has yet to sign with the Bills, and the 49ers "could be making a play" for him.
What have we learned this week? Don't consider anything official until the team announces it. Russini isn't suggesting the deal with the Bills won't get done, but the point is that it's not yet been signed and Harvin may still be considering his options. Maybe he's having second thoughts on tying himself to Matt Cassel. |

we really haven't played a game since Scott left where gaining points for us matter. I would hate to see us in a race for a playoff spot next year at this time and when Reinhart or McEichel make a nice move some D-bag takes liberties on them with intent to injure and the rest of the team just twiddles their thumbs. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a team that sticks up for each other, but if you don't have that, if your team is full of wussys, then having a goon is the next best thing to protect your franchise talent. |

Per profootballtalk.com he's definitely signing with the Bills and won't back out of the deal. |

Fins just traded Mike Wallace to the Vikings, now they have the money to keep Clay. |

My question is what do they do if they don't finish last and end up with the 3rd pick in the draft? We need a # 1 center. Or can a stronger Reinhart do that job? Do we skip Hanifan and go for Strome or Marner? - hammatoe
Yup...right there.
This rebuild, like this team since Drury/Briere left, will go nowhere until they have a #1 center. Can Reinhart become that? Could be maybe one day..we'll see..but that could take what 2-3 years? They need the 1st or 2nd pick not 3rd imo. |

They just need to lose all their games. We get backup goalies against us and Oilers get the starters.

Blast from the past. Watching Guelph/Kitchener. Ex Sabre D man Bill Stewart is Asst Coach for Guelph.. I used to holler at him at The Aud to throw me pucks. Him and Playfair always threw a ton to the fans.
Yes.. I'M OLD. |

Joe Thornton seems very upset, Myself and Homie would have liked to seen him in Buffalo. |

Roy ties game 2-2 but we've seen this before |

Of course they're the worst forward group. They haven't had a #1 pick in 28 years. Can the Oilers say the same? What's your excuse? - sippyd

You take hanafin, a better prospect than strome and watch him be our #1 defenseman. Both hanafin and strome are both 2-3 years out from the NHL anyway unless you want to Rush them. If we don't get a top 2 pick we will be a bottom 5 team next year probably 2 years until Reinhart risto and hanafin are fully developed. I could foresee murray flipping zadorov for a similar aged forward if we had hanafin which I wouldnt mind. Sucky thing is by time we started to turn corner kane will want out without a mcheichel keeping him here |

I suppose the #2 doesn't count though.......

Our #2 is still in juniors. Can't count it yet. No. I'm resigned to the fact that we probably won't get either with that nitwit Nolan trying to win.
