Grigs is a skill player. Idgaf if he plays like Girgensons as long as he puts up points, which you can't do consistently with inept linemates. |

Larsson isn't nearly as talented as Grigo, though, and that's what will drive people nuts about Grigo.
We say it all the time about players - and I'm by no means burying Grigo yet - that if some only had the will to match the talent, they'd be all-stars.
I call it "million dollar skill, ten cent heart" syndrome.
Larsson, at least, works his tail off. - grand-magus
Yeah I don't buy into that whole story about mononucleosis. Grigorenko still needs to be athletic enough to be in the NHL.
Larsson is allright. Not like he's really doing anything special. Just doing what he needs to do. Get to the net and be good in that 10 foot game. |

An entire game on a line with Ennis against a sh!tty toronto team? - Herzeleid
...it's not even about points from larsson at this stage of the game...he's projected as a bottom-six defensive forward that's a b!tch to play against...that's his game...his problem before this stretch was that he wasn't playing the way he was capable...that's why they kept bouncing him around |

Grigos lack of effort at the NHL level is by far and away his biggest detractor, but he seems to show effort at the AHL level which leads me to believe that maybe he just needs some more time up with the Sabres to have better chemistry with teammates/line mates. Right now his value is so low that all we will get for him is a 2nd, and that's just not worth letting him go for. He might not be a Murray guy and I understand that, but a 2 line next year consisting of Kane-McEichel-Grigo could real get this kid going, at least increase his value so trading him would be worth it. |

I'm (frank)ing pissed his Philly players got him 32 pts today and I just found out Malkin barely played in the game against edmonton and he is out today. 2nd week in a row my best and most expensive players missed 2/3/all of their games. He better be back tomorrow. |

I know. That's why the troubling part is why he gets an entire game on the first line with Ennis and when Grigs is here he gets two mother(frank)ing shifts on the 2nd line. |

I'd better not.

If the kid doesn't want to work for it, (frank) him.
You're really going to just plop him on the top line when he's a lazy slug and piss off the 20 other guys in that room?
I don't think so.
That's one thing (maybe the only thing) Nolan is good at. Rewarding hard work. |

Larsson was on the bottom line/in Nolan's doghouse on many occasions...something clicked with him that got him up to the second line and then the opportunity on the first line |

1. His lazyness is being greatly overstated (even still, two shifts, the (frank))
2. I'm not saying instantly put him on the top line (with this roster probs should be though) but he needs to at least stay on the second line with decent players/IceTime |

I get what you're saying. It's a tough call for this arsehole coach of ours who thinks he's still coaching for the Cup this year.
I think the team only has one more call up this year, so someone is probably going to have to get hurt for Grigo to come up again |

They just gave Simmonds a 10 min misconduct
I need Nash, Seguin to pull through and Malkin needs to play tomorrow. Him and Crosby both being out also affects Hornqvist (they got shutout, big surprise there)
I'll be at the game, probs cheering for Nash |

You brought him up to play 2C, you practice with him at 2C, and then you give him two shifts with less than 1 minute T.O.I. and sticking him on the 4th line. I wouldn't want to play for Nolan if he constantly pulled that B.S. with me. As for the 20 other guys in the locker room, (frank) them, most wont even be here next year and its not like they're tearing it up out there. They all know Grigo was a 1st rd pick at 12, and they all know he is here to be top 6. If guys like 82, 44, 12, 36,8 don't like it, too damn bad, they sure aren't putting up any points.

At some point you have to suck it up and say "ok, he put me on the 4th line. He must not think much of me . Well, I'll show him!", and go out and play that next shift, and the one after that, and the one after that like it's 30 seconds to go in the 3rd in game 7 of the Cup finals and you're leading 2-1.
Don't go sulk like a pu$sy in the corner, which is what Grigo seems to do. At some point, you have to WANT IT! |

The Oilers are a disgrace to the league - SABRES 89 you and your fear that ull lose out on mceichel.....
the tears.
they taste so good
I would certainly never say the oilers aren't brutal, but if youre gonna use the word disgrace, you should look at the forward group youre rolling out |

Michael Pachla: Of coaching, Larsson and a difficult stretch beginning tonight
Is this the mark of a poorly coached team? - Michael Pachla
As far as Larsson goes, where does hit fit in long-term?
If Reinhart plays RW on the top line w Kane & Mcdavid, then maybe he & Grigorenko fight it out for 3c behind Girgensons
If Reinhart is our 2c, then I think Larsson will have to fight it out on the wing if he wants a shot at top9 playing time
Should be an interesting offseason, as I could see him as trade bait as well |

I agree with you that he hasn't shown much effort at the NHL level but Nolan is telling him okay, your on the second line, and then when the game starts he puts him immediately on the 4th line. That's a big middle finger to the kid without even giving him a chance to play. You cant build a 20 year old up like that, and then continuously kick him in the balls like they've been doing to him since he got here. At some point the kids drive and intensity to perform is going to evaporate. Ive never seen a player so mis-handled. |

Yo no doubt grigorenko can read a play, take great angles, great puck control and make all the passes. But he might never be athletic enough to add value to any team. Quality of linemates definetly helps with point production. When ur on the ice u have a responsibility to play a position and if u can't handle that then u end up demoted. |
