I just think with his unique route-running and experience, he was a viable 2nd, 3rd option when Watkins was struggling and Woods was dropping every other pass. I think we win 11 games with him as a better check-down or slot option for our QBs. Whenever Kyle Orton did have time in the pocket he danced around like a pansy waiting for a Rookie and a Sophomore to shake their CBs. Stevie would have already done that.
But whatever. Anyone who says Stevie Johnson wasn't a good to great receiver, especially that Harvin is better or they'd rather have Harvin now is out of their mind.
BTW, wtf are the Sabres doing tonight. - DynamicThreads
Harvin is a better fit for what we are doing. Stevie was a great route runner, but he wasn't good after the catch.
Also, Watkins is so much better than Stevie already it isn't even funny |

Great tank play there by Brokeback. His movement on that play made zero sense |

How is Harvin a better fit? We are a run first Offense going into the year. Aside from Kick Returns, I don't see how Harvin is a better fit. I understand Stevie was in Roman's system last year and didn't exactly flourish, but I don't see how Harvin is going to put up more than 500yds. Which is about what SJ did in 12 or 13 games with SF. He would have easily put up 750 in a full year, especially since Kaep started to clique with him late in the year.
You know who wasn't good after the catch? Marvin Harrison. That guy hit the turf immedietely every single time he caught it.
I wouldn't say Watkins is so much better at this point than Stevie, but he almost certainly will be a better, more reliable receiver in his career and go down as better. Watkins looked completely absent for about 5 games last year, and no, his injury/injuries are not an excuse. Stevie played with a wonky groin every year and still put up 1k/3x. |

I think the announcing had been fine so far
I actually like Keith Jones
Milbury is the guy I can't F-ing stand
I like Roenick too - jdfitz77
Keith Jones is a guy I always liked. He's always been supremely cool with buffalo. I love how he took the opportunity to remind America that we have Evander Kane.
Edit: yes I have the volume back on |

Because Harvin is a better slot receiver. His speed, and the possibility of us handing off to him will create matchup problems.
Listen, I'm a huge Stevie Johnson fan, but he isn't much better if any better than Robert Woods. |

Bold: Fair enough. You sold your point.
Italic: I'm sorry but I completely disagree. Woods makes some spectacular catches, and I like Robert Woods a lot, but he drops more passes than Stevie ever did and until he puts up 1,000 yds at least once, let alone 3 consecutive seasons, I just don't see how you can call him just as good or almost as good as Stevie. |

I hope to see a typical rotten 3rd period so we can get out with the regulation loss. |

He's the reason they're not bottled up in their own end. Maybe they should keep him.

To be fair, Woods has done more the first 2 years than Johnson did.
I expect Woods to have decent 750-900 yard seasons with competent QB play. I think he could be a 1,000 yard season if he had to play as a #1 |

Johnsons ideal spot on the field is also in the slot. |
