Your wrong. If we get hanafin instead we are a bottom 3 team next year. Maybe a couple more wins but what's changing from this year to next year? Kane and a another year of our guys developed. That's 10 extra points. Bottom 3 still. The year after? Reinhart as a rookie and a year of development. Let's say we add 10 more points, Bottom 10 team still. 3rd year we add hanafin in lineup and lose kane because our team still sucks and he won't resign,still not a playoff team. 4th year out our guys are in there early prime and we are a perpetual 8th-6th place team. Ya that's the future everyone here really wants I guess.

It'll be a while before Kylington is ready for "top4" duty in the Nhl, but that's fine BC I think McCabe has top pair potential...
Actually, if those 6 end up being our defense corps,
We will have one of the the best defense in the nhl
There's no "Doughty" or "Weber" in that group,
But you've got 6 guys there that could be at least #2 or #3 defenseman on just about any team once they develop

That woul be an incredibly solid group IMO

If we do get Hanifin, he's NHL ready. And add Pysyk. Our defense is already much better than this year, although I know that's not saying much.
Kane & Reinhart added gives us a 2nd legit line that can score consistently.
Those 2 things alone will give us a bump up in the standings...

But guys like Grigorenko & Larsson will either be contributing or used as trade bait

For next season,
The addition of Kane & Reinhart gives us a 2nd legit scoring line
Moving ahead, even without McDavid/Eichel, we have TONS of top9 projected forward prospects...
Grigorenko, Larsson, Bailey, Baptiste, Hurley, Carrier, Compher, Fasching, Karabacek, Possler & Olofsson...
And I'm prob forgetting a couple
Even if only half of those guys work out, we are still loaded with quality depth that can contribute
And just like some will surely disappoint, some will also most likely surprise and do better than projected as well
