It's funny seeing the reaction of the Ref. He see's Prust hitting Bishop. Arm doesn't go up. He's probably wondering WTF Bishop was doing behind his net. - l3ig_l2ecl
Prust deserved a penalty. Saying anything different is wrong.
Did he deserve 4...probably not. If they would have given him 4 they likely would have given the Bolts 2 also.
At this point the Tampa fan is arguing for the sake of arguing....and I totally respect him for that. |

Go read the first few pages on the board and see more than a few posts about our guys not even giving Prust as much of a facewash in that "scrum". Hard to give Barberio (the first guy in the scrum) anything other than a butt warmer since he quickly found himself sitting on the ice - uf1910

Well if the Ref gave him 2 minutes for boarding instead of 2 minutes for goaltender interference, would you be okay with that ?
If a player accidentally clip a goaltender with a high stick, should he get 2 for goaltender interference AND 2 for high-sticking ? I'm not sure why do you think everything should be doubled ... - Popofjc

Ah, I see. So it's all anecdotal evidence that guides your interpretation of the rules? Because I've seen much WORSE hits result in no call at all. Thus, Bishop should have been given 2 for embellishing, fined $2000 because he's an asshat, thrown out of the game for his spearing attempt with this goal stick after he rolled over, each of the 3 Tampa players given 2 for roughing, and one also given a game misconduct for being the 3rd man into a fight.
Because, you know, I've seen stuff like that happen before. - 3M
No, the evidence I use is the hit itself. Definition of boarding however NOT bad enough to be a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. We all know refs are inconsistent.
Isn't one Tampa PP wiped off by an off-setting roughing call enough for 1 game for you guys? Oh wait we are talking about your opponent so by all means wipe em all away

You know, I watched that play 2 or 3 times, and wasn't convinced it WAS Galchenyuk's stick. Looked like it could have been Hedman's stick that his his own goalie...similar to McDonagh lifting Hank's mask a few weeks ago. |

Maybe it's just me, but I found the refs weren't the story of last night's game at all.
And that Prust get 2 for goalie interference or boarding, what does it matter? he's got 2 and that's the end of it. |

If you're upset about this, be upset at Hedman who went all Lucic-Gorilla on Galchenyuk. Tampa was in line for a PP until Hedman lost his poop. |

Stamkos first goal came on a 4on4 that should have been a PP by Montreal.
Galchenyuk got a HighStick called but it was Tampas player that actually hit Bishop in the Facemask.
The funniest thing in all of that, Bishop did the "whiplash, hold face, look at ref" thing like he forgot he was a goalie that receives 90mph shot at his head on a regular basis... |

Like I said, I felt the hit deserved 4 because it was a dangerous play and giving that play the same punishment as a "love tap" hooking sets a dangerous precedent. You guys can disagree all you want but if the situation was reversed I certainly would expect you guys to be saying the same thing. Bottom line is Prust ran Bishop, differently than Kreider ran Price but with the same intent. Obviously Price was hurt and Bish wasn't but using injuries to justify whether a play is right or not is extremely hazardous IMO.
EDIT: Have a nice day guys |
