Gilbert's the weak link right now. Hopefully he sits and Beaulieu steps back in

He really didn't have a strong game last night.

Hmm. This is a good penalty. But today I learned, that hustling back to stop a breakaway is NOT a good penalty.

I would not say stupid, but first time I see a goalie try to play the puck to stop a cycle. But Bishop is really good with the puck.

Islanders will eliminate Pittsburgh in the first round. Pens will trade Malkin to Carolina with Sutter for both Staal bros.

half of these nit wits take the day off.

They take the day off? They're nitwits for sure.

They should just get drunk and then go back to work.

Aren't we alll over-analysing way too much hockey replays nowadays? All I see is an NHL goalie making a quick decision on a quick sport play, an opponent making another quick decision resulting in a deserved penalty. End of story.

My question is, WTF was Bishop doing playing the puck? He never had a chance.

What is Prust suppose to do?

Not saying it's right or wrong, just what should a player do when the goalie plays a puck when not a dump in?

- l3ig_l2ecl

That was probably part of Prust's message: "Hey Ben, stop acting like you're Marty Brodeur".

Why do players need to dive? I would wager its primarily due to the refs being terribly inconsistent with their calls. Nothing like letting the last 30 infractions go and then calling a softy. Though this is Eller we are talking about, the first player to get called for a low-sticking penalty in crunch time.

Looking like Rangers if they make it. I'm hoping for Habs just for the annual gong show on HB and social media.

NYR look scary right now; curious if Lundqvist comes back and they lose that hot streak though.

Question for you ( please please please ...I know it's not question period)

Should a goalie be "fair play" when he comes out of his crease ?

- hscesq

Not my point.

My point, is, for some unexplainable reason, it seems that no matter what Eller does, it always ends up blowing up in his face.

Cool.

It's what my question was. Not allowed to hit a goalie anywhere..

I'm surprised goalies haven't figured out how to take more advantage of this...

- l3ig_l2ecl

Well, intentionally leaving the crease to play the puck when there's 3 guys on top of the play already seems like Bishop sure figured it out.

The next stage will have goalies roaring out of their net to play every dumped in puck on the half-wall, and if they happen to get clipped, they'll flop like Mike Smith.

If the NHL wants to increase scoring, this could be an easy solution.

Goalies with either stay in their crease, creating more pressure down low, or goalies get injured more relying on backups increasing scoring (unless playing the Habs)
