Looks like July sometime. My start date is August 1st, so I'll probably head down a week or so before to get acclimatised.

This is utter horsepoop.

Our two best forward prospects outside of Nylander (Brown and Johnson) are both 6th round picks.

Some people here wouldn't know value if it whipped out it's Richard and smacked 'em with it.

oh and good morning

I love connor brown. undervalued at every level he has played. 12th rd OHL pick, 6th rd NHL, and now he has the most points of any rookie in the AHL.

I guess the myth that he cant score without mcdavid has been busted

I don't think he played on a line with McDavid to begin with.

never understood the love Santorelli got. there's a reason he's playing on a 1 year deal for half the league average. i think he gives an honest effort and that likely made him stand out amongst the current group of Leafs.
- DoubleDown

you have to remember, we haven't had a guy who gives an honest effort in years. Hence, Polak, santo, winnik were seen as special here when they are nothing more than 3rd liners and depth D...solid in their roles, but a dime a dozen.

It is interesting to compare Brown and his statistic accomplishments - against some of the kids in the upcoming draft class. Everyone debating whether Marner is "too small" ...
isn't/wasn't the knock on Brown?

We will see if Connor Brown can be an NHLer or not, the jury is still very much out. Good rookie season though.

I hope Nylander can gain 10 lbs this summer

give him 3 inches and everyone would consider him a lock.
He has been by far the best player on a young marlies team.

Agreed, but the NHL is a whole different equation. Ask Keith Aucoin or Carter Ashton

Man, the best part of watching the Leafs next year is that I'm not going to have any expectations for the team, which is the complete opposite from this year.

Let's just hope that the only way the Leafs get Crouse is if he falls so far down in the draft and is available with the Nashville pick..

i don't know. I'd have to do more scouting. i've seen brown play a ton and played against him a few times. guance i've seen maybe twice. MAYBe.

to me stats are only part of the equation.

to be fair aucoin put up 16 pts in 30 games as a 23 year old rookie in the ahl, and ashton hit his career high of 38 pts. I get where you are coming from though.

thanks to advanced stats we can see that they've already been eliminated from next years playoffs too

twice is not enough, but man in 2 games i can't tell you if he had a shot or even a hit. Again 2 games isn't nearly enough of a sample but i wasn't impressed.

I guess my point is that Brown as a 6th rd pick has increased his value so much, that a swap for a 1st rd prospect in the same draft would't even be a no brainer.
How tall is this kid really? 5'11 ..if he was an inch taller would anyone give a poop about size?
