Oh i love connor brown. i really hope he makes it and has a good career. he's a great kid. I just don't have him down as a future piece of the team along with Rielly and Nylander.

I've always felt he won't make it...then the Hockey News 2 weeks ago ranks him 6th best on the leafs prospect list. It's not the BIble but it goes to show there's been a ton of connor browns in the past that are career AHLers.

He is 5'11 but very lanky/skinny

- clark_griswold

so Nylander, Gauthier,Percy, Leivo maybe. who was the other guy ranked ahead of connor? Johnson/Verhaeghe?

for me, those 6th round picks, until they actually prove themselves at the NHL level i expect nothing from them. sometimes i get surprised (Gallagher) but most of the time, you end up realizing why they were drafted where they were. i think it's just a safer assumption. i recognize that it's tempting when a guy comes in and has a dynamite rookie year in the A, but the question i ask is, what do they do in the NHL when that extra split second they have in the AHL is gone? i think that's so often what separates the high scoring AHL guys from the NHL guys.

I don't buy that the NHL draft is the definitive measure of a player's potential. Kids hit growth spurts and achieve physical maturity at different times. You could say the same thing about the mental aspect of the game as well. While you can judge what a player will be some day, most of the time, when they hit draft eligible age, you can't determine what they'll be at that age 100% of the time.

connor brown ripped up the OHL at age 20. Keep that in mind.

Not sure how anybody could complain about that ranking... Maybe leipsic and brown are toss ups for 4/5.

Johnson probably vaults up that list once he gets to AHL

Think we should keep most of them together in the Marlies to actually compete for something over the next year or two?

OHL scoring award, one year removed from his draft year. I'll take it.

Hurt and way down the chart as a resullt. Marlies have a ton of D so Finns been 6/7 most of the year.

Likely get more time now that 2 guys are up with Leafs. Next year he should get a bigger role.

I'm big on Finn though. Tons of upside in that kid.

it's not 100% definitive, of course, but there are general %'s assigned to players in each round. and i'm not knocking the Leafs players. i have super low expectations for Charles Hudon, who is our Connor Brown. but like i said, i didn't expect Gallagher to be an NHLer when he was lighting up the WHL.
