He's finally going to be the good Russian the Flyers add. - Jsaquella
He very well could be he's been mostly impressive in my viewings of him. |

The Flyers hold Tampa's 1st rounder. The earlier they are out of the playoffs, the higher the pick will be. - Jsaquella
yea but those picks are off the chart at that point it really doesn't matter |

Agreed. I would not be upset in the least if he's their top pick. Adding him to Sanheim, Morin, Hagg, Alt and Gostisbehere would be exciting. |

I'd rather have Tampa's pick land at 20 than 27, myself |

Set on just Provorov? - ob18
I'm pretty high on Werenski as well but I think I'm liking Provorov just a little bit more. I'm starting to lean towards a D man with that first pick even though I'd be happy with just about anyone considered to be a top 12 prospect. |

Still have to go BPA in the first round, worry about position later. Even if both 1st rounders are used on D-men, it gives them valuable assets to use in trade down the road. |

I won't pick a specific position. I could easily be happy with at least 10 different players if not more with whatever their own 1st rounder ends up.
Overall I have 30 prospects on my early list, but do not have them in any order, I'll do that after the regular season. |

I do that with their own 1st rounder, I'd be more open to a chance later in round 1 if it's in the mid to late 20's. |

It totally matters. You have the opportunity to grab a higher ranked prospect and if not the pick holds even more value as a trade asset. |

I'm open to more of a roll of the dice with the later pick, but if a kid like Chabot or Zboril falls, it'd be hard to pass them up |

Yup, unless they go totally off the board it will be hard to be upset with the kid they grab regardless of position.
There are a few guys ranked fairly high that I don't know a thing about. Barzal, Zboril to name a few. But even then I didnt know a thing about Sanhiem when they took him and that looks to be a very strong pick already. |

This is just input, not a judgement or criticism at all, so take it for what it's worth. If he's not completely healed, by playing now he is creating friction against scar tissue and retarding the healing process and MAYBE (not saying he is but maybe) getting his knee drained as often as daily. And he MAY need to be scoped again in the off season. Which unfortunately is right around the corner.
However, I agree he is playing very well. - Briere
He's claiming he's not 100%.
He's claiming he hasn't had the opportunity to completely heal his knee and that it's not fully healed.
He says he's not pain free after playing again merely 16 days after surgery.
Mason isn't using any "maybes" here. What are the Flyers trying to accomplish except "maybe" to move from the 8th pick to the 12th, and in the process chance complicating Mason's injury issues?
The kid has had a rough 2015 with his back and now his knee. If he's your future, why risk it by keep sending him out there? Why not get a jump on getting him fully healthy for next year? What's the downside - losing a chance to make the PO's this year? Really? |

So, Mike Milbury suggests that San Jose should send Joe Thornton to the AHL. Despite his NMC, which Milbury acknowledges by saying you can't trade him. Jumbo is currently 4th in the NHL in assists, BTW |

the only reason of my post was to post a knowlegable opinion without getting into a silly internet argument about it. i was purposely choosing my words very carefully.

Barzal missed much of the year with a broken knee cap but he's a slick play making center who some I've talked to think he's going to be one of the better players taken early in round 1.
I was very happy Sanheim was the pick & have watched his development this year (watching him right now). |

Like you, I have more than one name at each spot. It would take quite a bit to disappoint me with the picks, much like last year, when we had 6 or 7 names for the 17th pick |

If the Flyers were playoffbound I would take Thornton without hesitating. Wilson is a buffoon. He could've bought him out if he wanted him gone this bad. |

That's why I keep coming back to him as a Flyers pick. He's played great of late, he's a bit of a dark horse, he's a center and he definitely fills a need with his playmaking skills and vision. |

Holmgren followed that plan at the 2008 draft. It didn't work out so well.
