why are healthcare costs so high? (frank)ing seriously?
- 2Real

I know. Believe me. I know and I'm sorry.

my gf is on a 20000 dollar infusion for crohn's and alkylosing spondylitis. it's making things hard. and it's upsetting.

a future degree in pharmacy, alas, will not change it. I would if I could

Doing you a favor so you can rack up more debt in student loans, of course.
- MJL

the whole thing is a (frank)ing sham. and having the government be the primary lender is such a joke and no one seems to mind.

one of the main reasons schools feel they have such free rein to charge so much is simply because they do. the govt will provide the loan. its essentially open season for schools to name their price. then when you have a middle class thats been systematically weeded out through things such as shifting from industrial goods to technology/consumer based, as well as outsourcing, you have such a high number of job seekers being pushed towards going to college. this in turn enables jobs that really shouldnt require college degrees to be able to require them, because the job market infinitely favors the employer. the whole process is absolutely sickening.

gaborik wants to fight kessler interesting

not currently near a tv, but i feel like that would be an interesting matchup.

i wonder if they both could make it through without aggravating a chronic injury.

It's a tough situation out there. It took me until my mid 30's to achieve a level of financial security. Just keep you're chin up, it will work out.

see its things like that where it gets difficult.

the days are pretty monotonous. and you dont have a done of free time, but once you get into a groove of it the day to day stuff is definitely manageable. its once you start involving long term projects like outlining/job search that things get tricky.

for me personally, starting outlines too early sort of defeats the purpose. however, right around the end of march is really when it starts to get into crunch time. i have sort of a weird schedule this semester, where only 2 of my classes are your typical doctrinal type. for my crim procedure, ive started it this week, simply due to the mass of material.

although the real for me right now is job search for the summer.

yeah. but mid 30s is actually a pretty good pace in today's society.

you could hand me a winning powerball ticket tomorrow, and it still wouldnt make me any less disgusted by how they run things. there are some beautiful things about this country, but man its a (frank)ed up place when you actually examine the power structure and wealth disparity.

yeah i feel like thats a possibility for him every time he takes a breath.

but whatever, he was worth his weight in gold for the kings last postseason, especially given what they paid for him.

come to think of it, i still cant get over how little ANA paid for kessler.

Best of luck this summer.

Though they pay poorly, have you looked into any clerkships, or are you looking away from the law field for a break?

thanks.

and i dont really get the luxury of looking away from the law field. the line or two you get to add to your resume is pretty much an unspoken requirement at this point.

and everyone knows it, so they have you by the balls pay wise. even unpaid positions are ridiculously competitive. id much prefer clerking in a firm as opposed to being a judicial clerk for a judge, so thats what im looking at. im gonna send out one or two a week from here on out to firms in the area.

PD's or DA's office an option, or do you want to get some civil litigation experience?

well, theres typically 0 chance of anyone giving you any actual litigation experience as far as the courtroom goes. its mainly writing.

but id rather work for a private entity, regardless of the type of law, instead of the PD or DA route.

You have time to worry about that later.

In the meantime, crack that 5 pound Con Law book and light up the midnight oil.
