Dude has shown he can throw them a bit. - jmatchett383
I love that Jake has been throwin em this season. Love the way he's transformed his game. He seems much tougher to take off the puck this year, he himself seems tougher, more confident, playing with a bit of an edge, and he's been really feisty. Awesome progress for him.

Thanks Bill. Salute to Quinn. It was a nice ceremony to watch at the beginning of the broadcast.
I went to bed after the first two periods, and I awoke to another Flyers imploding. Has this been a team problem since Richie was Captain? It seems like the Flyers have been struggling with playing a 60 minute game for a long time. I really don't get the lack of effort, inability to play at a consistent level...etc.. Is it the quality of players that we are drafting? I mean this says a lot about the players character, and desire to win a game. I realize that it's easier to change a coach, than a team. However, what good does changing a coach, if you can't change a teams culture; see Toronto, and Edmonton. They change coaches, and still find ways to lose. It is my opinion, that the Flyers maybe in the same boat. Homer tried to blow up the team once, and the problems still exist. First, it was a lack of a goalie. Then, new forwards were brought in. Then, the defense was not up to snuff. Either way, the team really can't put it together on the ice for any length of time.
Good luck Hexy. You have your work cut out for you. |

No way.
The only the NHL grows anymore is within American cities. Face it, the Leafs are terrible now and they still sell out. McDavid goes to Buffalo and establishes that market more in the Northeast.
Then you got Eichel or Marner going to Arizona with the likes of Domi and Duclair.
This is a perfect time to be a NHL fan. - KGBflyers10

Voracek in a fight?
Ummm... O.K. - kerr10s4U
He's definitely getting into being a Flyer but not what you want him to be doing. Shred salary, get tougher, faster and improve that defense in the summer. |

Certainly didn't see this side of Jake any other season and I'm loving it just as much. He's gotten fired up this season a good amount and it def has a positive impact on the team. My highlight of this season is Jake fighting Scuderi and pumping the crowd. Heck i was sitting on my couch at home and that got me fired up. He has for sure established himself this season. |

I was soooo pumped. I literally got up and started clapping and cheering for him in my basement by myself. Everyone at home was like 'da fuq is wrong with him'?

If he was turning into a thug and throwin' down every other game, no, I wouldn't want him doing that.
But he and Giroux are the focus of the opposition right now, and if he stands up for himself and starts hammering guys with that right of his a handful of times a year, I fine with it. The harassment by stick will be a thing of the past shortly.

The Flyers aren't as bad as the Leafs or Oilers though. We're a year removed in the players. I want to say this is our third time missing the playoffs in 20 years. We've seen the Stanley Cup Final twice since 1997. So we really haven't jumped off a cliff yet. I think a better Coach and cutting ties with at least Lecavalier, Umberger and MacDonald opens up real options for improvement. Ken Hitchcock and Peter Laviolette were instant game changers for us when they were highered. |

I don't want Voracek fighting because he's not a fighter. That was like his third NHL fight ever. Just wait until he throws down with the wrong guy. |

Agreed. While we're at it, I like that Mason has fought for his territory at times. Smartest decisions ever? No. Players know he'll fight for his space though, and I respect that. |

Jakes smarter than that though. (at least I hope so). Ya don't have to be a fighter to fight. All part of the game.

I had an offer for two tickets to the game. We live about 40 minutes from there.
Had to work and could not find anyone willing to switch shifts with me, so missed going to the game. It kills me but but sounds like it was a good one to miss.
Would have liked to watch Cousins in his first game and see Jake fight (sort of). |

fixed that for you.
It's when you take someone's quote and slightly modify it. For instance:
"Zac Rinaldo is a good hockey player."
can become:
"Zac Rinaldo has gonorrhea.
