2) Mac T is paid to find solutions, and he didn't for the C position at the start of the year

3) Hanafin
4) Strome or we go off the board for Kylington or Provorov
5) oh god don't take Crouse with our first pick.

ok. while I don't think what you say is wrong per se, it is his job, the only way we can know is to be privy to the trade talks.

If he couldn't sign anyone of value or that would actually make a difference ( available, with some gas in the tank--jokinen, roy, cullen etc) apparently said no. so that option is eliminated.

and then all we can do from there is use conjecture at what he could've/should've done.
by all accounts he was getting lowballed to fuk in every offer by gms trying to take advantage of a desperate gm.
but I wont even use that too strongly cause its media rumors.

a complete guess here, but I believe that in comparison to price tags for the guys he may have called about/who was available in free agency etc. I bet giving drasaitl the spot was probably a pretty reasonable option.
Id bet he didn't have a real shot at anyone better than arcobello that was a free agent.

yeah me too. ive seen a fair amount of him lately and hes really effin good.
his ceiling is huge. like as good or better as any of the top d picks recently imo.

its the oilers, so nothing is out of the question, but itll be tough to keep up with buffalo and/or Arizona. I really don think we're near as bad as either.
Need Buffalo to win the first of their head to head with Arizona coming up, and maybe we'll have a shot at 1 or 2.

but as I said, at this point, its looking highly likely (like 89%) we get hanifin. Even if a random team wins the lottery and we move to 4th, we'll still get him.

I would take Crouse at 12 if all the Dmen were gone by then, thats about the right spot for him. But Avs apparently have been scouting Kyle Connor & Mathew Barzal pretty hard lately
