I would take Crouse at 12 if all the Dmen were gone by then, thats about the right spot for him. But Avs apparently have been scouting Kyle Connor & Mathew Barzal pretty hard lately

Barzal is in most peoples top 10. I have net seen much but he's damn good. If he fell to the avs that would be a no brainer IMO.

He contacted all available Ufa's and they denied him. I guess he's supposed to just be a wizard and put guys under spells and get then to sign here.

not to say I cant see any value in strome/another quality center, but I think its pretty much a no brainer to pick hanifin for a bunch of reasons.

If we pick 3 I think it has to be Hanifin. If later then there are arguments to be made for 4-5 other guys.

thats why this draft is going to be so interesting. Those 6-12 picks are going to be all over the place compared to most rankings. Really wont be a bad pick unless you go full jankowski with your pick

Stauffer doesnt necessarily reveal all of the true Oilers interests or offers- and if you follow Edmonton MSM- well I wouldnt say they confidently know whats going on or are too revealing of whom and when the Oilers had deals tabled and they are less inside to the happenings than Stauffer- Alot of stuff is maybe revealed after the fact- but minimal in real time...

Again we don't get to hear all the trade talk that actually goes on in the office but none of the trades anyone talked about in the media were even close to being hockey deals. If a pick or prospect would have done it we would have pulled the trigger. All Mact was offered was poop for our top guys.

I don't think Stauffer is as in tune as many think. He wrote an article saying why Pouliot made no sense for the Oilers and a week later he signs with us. And he's been good.

US finishing higher than 3rd last is very unlikely.

So even if random team wins lottery pushing us down to 4, and one of ari/buf into 3rd spot, I think we still get hanifin.
Both those teams have solid young kids and franchise level defenders as part if their rebuilds. While both have abysmal forward groups and both need centers.
I think they'd both take strome in that case.

Pouliot is a rock with that top line... He is proving to be a great pick up thus far for MacT... I just hope Nelson puts Hall with Roy and Yak- to enhance 2nd line scoring even further and possibly create a potential 1a and 1b scoring line scenario- I think the vets with the younger player alignments are obviously clicking and clicking well...

I'm beginning to turn the corner into Hanafin being the best choice for the Oilers going forward.

No you're right, MacT is god. How dare I say he should've done his job and iced a NHL caliber lineup. Jesus (frank)in christ you get touchy whenever anyone even mentions MacT. I didn't say he was a bad GM. I said he should've done a better job. Does MacT have pics he's holding of you getting railed from behind in a Vancouver jersey or something?
