I was a fan of Purcell but his game is seriously lacking at this point in his career. I wonder if the Oilers might try moving him and retaining half his salary in a cap dump trade. Something along the lines of a Purcell + Pittsburgh's 1st for Loui Eriksson and a prospect?

If they're desperate for cap relief or in a package as u suggested maybe.
But it sounds like mact likes the depth he gives us.
He's not great, but talented enough to fill in in a top 6 role in a pinch.
Whereas Fraser, Hendricks, Pitlick probably aren't.

It's not a huge blow one way or another. But having some depth is a nice thing.
If we need to dump cap to acquire a big need. I'm all for it

I don't know if you saw but I mentioned in a previous post about retaining half of Teddy's salary which would free up around 2 million which isn't great but it's better than nothing.
