Tell you what. If an instance ever comes up where Murray says "well, I chose the Canadian over the American because I think Canadians try harder", I'll come by your house, boil my shoe and eat it in front of you.

The 18 more goals in 4 less games is a glaring thing to point out for Kane. Also only putting up 59 points last season has me worried a bit.

It doesn't worry me that much. It was his rookie junior season. Here's some others by comparison in their rookie season. I'm more concerned about taking Strome and the fact that he's been sheltered by McDavid.

It doesn't make any sense he traded away a big Canadian and two draft picks to acquire an American. He may like Canadian players more but that doesn't mean his default will be to pass over every American in favour of a Canadian. I'm sure talent and size are more of a priority to him

I'm waiting to see what happens first, Tim Murray has a complete breakdown and fights Nolan on the bench, or the "home" fans start openly rooting for the away team and booing any good Sabres play.

I'll be booing for every Sabres goal next Thursday. I will draw the line at cheering for Arizona. I'll remain stoic if in fact they find the back of the net.

I've also begun to mentally prepare for Hanifin.

I'm cool with Marner, Strome, or Hanifan. I think all 3 could be future NHL all-stars. I would trade Eichel for Strome and Hanifan. Its been 22 years since Mogilny scored 76 Goals in 77 games. No NHL player has scored more in a single season since. Not Gretzky, Not Lemieux, Not Ovechkin, Not Stamkos, Not Crosby, Not Kane.......Nobody!!!!! I just don't understand why he gets no consideration for the Hall of Fame

i think the fact that mogilny was inconsistent throughout his entire career hurts his chances.

he would go from 76 goals, to 32, to 18, to 50, back to 30, then 15, etc, etc, etc

he would have one great year, then one good year, then 2 poop years, then another great year. he was never a player who did it every year. i think that's why he isn't there......and likely never will be.

Has the NHL ever given even a pseudo-justification for having a closed draft lottery? I can take or leave whether Sabres finish 29 or 30; the odds are what they are. I get really irked by the closed-doors lottery though. I can handle losing out on McDavid if I actually see the lottery ball pop-up with a Leafs logo on it... But this summer when the Leafs vault over everyone to win behind closed doors, not one person will think that's a legitimate win. Not that the NHL cares, but you'd think theyd have the decency to construct a terrible lie at least.

There are no logo's on the balls, just numbers. Before the lottery, they figure out how many possible combinations can be had from X number of balls, and then divide the combinations up between the teams based on their percentage chance of winning (for instance, if there were 200 combinations, Buffalo would currently get 40 [20%] of them).
When the lottery balls drop, the person doing the draw has no idea who the combo belongs to until they check with the list they put together prior. Since it's an accredited accounting firm doing the draw, It's pretty unlikely the draw is fixed. It would be business suicide if they were caught cheating.
I used to think it was rigged as well, but with the way they are doing it this year, I doubt it.
